MICHELLE PEYTON
“Why do I feel like you aren’t hearing a damn word I said the whole time?”
Lonnie’s voice made me jerk back to reality. f**k! Did I zone out again?!
He had a look of pure frustration on his soft face. I couldn’t blame him. He had put up with so much from me and yet here he was like a little lost puppy.
Lonnie sighed. “Michelle, what’s going on? What are you thinking about?”
I smiled nervously, shaking my head.
If he could get a preview of what I was thinking about then he would drop dead from severe heartbreak. I didn’t want to be the one to do that to him even though he had it coming.
“It’s nothing. I'm just having a rough week.”
“A rough week? It’s Monday!”
Oops!
“I know. It’s just one of those things.”
Sitting across from him, I tried to imagine what had made me agree to be his girlfriend in the first place. He wasn’t my type even if he had a full magical makeover courtesy of the fairy godmother herself.
“Anything I can help you with?” Lonnie said.
He sounded genuinely concerned. Lonnie was a sweet guy after all but he just wasn’t the one for me. Maybe he was too sweet for me. I’d thought he was right for me since he was fine with the whole virgin angle but now I realized I didn’t want that anymore. I want to be f****d hard by a guy who knew what he was doing and Lonnie wasn’t the guy for the job.
“Michelle?!”
I blinked.
Not again…
“Look Lonnie,” I tried to think of a gentle way to say what I had to say. “This isn’t working out for either of us.”
His face fell. I paused for a minute because we were in public and I didn’t want to cause a scene. He looked like he would break down in tears if I carried on.
“Lonnie.” I sighed feeling helpless.
He moved uncomfortably in his seat. “Are you about to break up with me?”
“Let’s not call it that. It’s more like we’re transitioning to a new phase. A phase without me in your life.” I tried to smile.
The look on his face wasn’t making it easy for me at all. He looked like a child that had just been deprived of the joy of a lollipop. What the f**k have I gotten myself into?
The couples at the next table were watching us. I’d lost my appetite even though I was starving. It just made my frustration triple knowing there was nothing I could do but feel powerless.
Watching Lonnie struggle with his facial expressions of pure misery wasn’t how I had envisioned my evening. As if it wasn’t enough that I had been drooling over the substitute professor and had my hopes crushed by the confident, fierce Jean Harrison.
Lonnie stood up from the table and attracted more attention. I wasn’t sure what he was going to do but I was glad and relieved when he sat back.
“Look, Lonnie,” I kept my voice low. “You’ll be fine without me. Great even.”
I doubt that but at this point I’ll say just about anything to keep him from crumbling in front of everyone here.
Then an idea hit me. A way we can both get a win-win from this.
Lonnie had a faraway look on his face. I could picture him going back to his apartment and crying the rest of the night. Oh boy…
“How about we go back to your place and spend the night together?” I said winking at him.
He watched me with an uncertain look and nodded slowly. “You want to spend the night at my place after breaking up with me?”
I sighed. How can I make him understand I just want us to f**k as a parting gift.
“No!” I said in a low voice. “I want us to be together.”
“But we are together right now and you’re ending it.”
“That’s not what I mean.” I scowled.
Fuck!!!
“Then what do you mean, Michelle?”
I looked around to make sure no one was paying attention to us and it wasn’t until I was sure that I said, “I want us to go back to your place and fuck.”
The hall went quiet just as the last word came out of my mouth. All eyes turned to look at me with a shocked expression.
Ohh no…
If the ground had swallowed me, I would have considered it mercy but that didn’t happen. Somehow we managed to leave the restaurant together, heavily embarrassed, until we got to Lonnie’s place. We hadn’t said a single word the whole way.
We sat on opposite sides of his bed.
I waited for him to make the first physical move since I had taken it upon myself to suggest the act but all he did was stare at me awkwardly with an uncertain look on his face.
I was just about to lose my s**t when he sighed loudly and said, “Are you sure this is what you want?”
Wtf???
I couldn’t believe he had just asked that f****d up question. I mean what guy in his normal senses asks that after being offered the opportunity to f**k?
Lonnie saw the look on my face and knew he had said the wrong thing. Just as I was about to get up, he grabbed hold of my arm and pulled me down on his body.
It was the first time we were having any physical connection that wasn’t a hug or a kiss on the cheeks and it felt good. It felt so good.
My whole body responded to him. Lonnie’s left hand slid along my thigh riding my dress up to my bum. He took a big squeeze.
Arrrrgh… I moaned into his earlobe.
Lonnie watched me closely. My eyes pleaded with him to carry on. I wanted him to take me the whole way. I’m ready for the ride.
YESSSS!
