JAMIE WILLIS
I didn't have the wrong girl.
Her eyes had a flirtatious glare in them that pushed all my warning lights. If I had any sense left then I'd stay as far away from her as possible.
She was just the kind of trouble I didn't need. It was too f*****g early for this.
"I'll assume you enjoyed the class too." I said uneasily.
She swung her legs back and forth. The movement made her skirt edge up till it moved past the danger point. I forced myself to look away. Focus on the board.
"It depends." She said.
"Depends on?"
"What part of the class you think I enjoyed." She grinned. "If it's watching you teach, now that was enjoyable."
Her eyes took a slow seductive trail down my body. It chilled my blood and boiled my bones all in one breath. Her eyes were dangerous brown eyes.
Who is this walking temptation?
"I'm Jean. Jean Harrison." She said almost as if she had read my mind.
Jean Harrison…
That name. She was one of the top. I had gone through a list of all the students with the highest score and lowest.
I made a mental note to go through the list later. If I make it out of this in one piece, I thought.
The probability of making it was very slim. Her claws were too sharp and they were flexing to sink into my flesh.
"How can I help you, Miss Harrison?" I asked, trying to sound immune to her sweet, sweet allure.
Jean shrugged.
Her brown hair bounced in curly waves. It brought a picture to my mind. A waterfall made of pure honey.
Don't! Stop before it's too late…
"I don't know." She bit her lower lip. "I feel like I can help you more."
Her legs parted a little exposing more than I should be allowed to see. The hall was empty but I hurriedly looked around in a frantic way.
She was openly flirting with me. I had started this job expecting something like this would happen but I'd imagined it would happen this way. She was being too forward and confident.
"I don't understand-" My mouth was dry. "I don't understand what you mean."
Jean laughed. She was enjoying it of course. I could see how it was like a game to her and she knew I was losing.
"I think you do." She said.
It was hard looking into her eyes. Her eyes burned with naked lust. Looking into the flames might ignite mine.
"Miss,"
She held up her finger to my lips "Jean. Call me Jean."
Her finger had a fruity fragrance. I wanted to bit on it gently. Make her whimper or purr.
Stop!
Jean moved her finger slowly along my lips until it got to my chin. Her luscious lips parted slightly. It made my heart quicken.
My control was ripped to piece right in front of my friggin' eyes and all I could do was watch it happen.
A few more seconds of this and we'd kiss. It was inevitable.
I picked up my bag ignoring the voice in my head that was telling me to let her lead me into her depths.
"Fun chatting but there's something I need to get a beat on?" I said with some resolve.
Her face fell as I made my way out the door with legs that felt like they had been submerged in cement.

"And you just walked away?"
Steve's voice shot up in shock.
I nodded. "I did. Hardest thing I'd ever done in a long time."
Bennie blew a long whistle. The guys had mocked me for taking the job as a substitute professor but now they were feeling different about it.
Steve worked in a vet's office and the most action he got came from being hit on by the old wrinkly attendants. Bennie was going through almost the same thing. It was slightly worse. There was no decrepit looking attendant for him.
"Jeez. I wish we could swap." Bennie said. "All those hot babes."
"Are you insane?" I said, agitated. "It could cost me my job."
Bennie wasn't thinking straight and I was starting to regret coming to them in the first place. Thinking wasn't his strong suit after all.
I left them arguing about it and decided to walk back to my apartment. Walks helped my thinking process.
It got late by the time I turned the corner of the street that led to my apartment building. I could see the old building now.
Just as I considered ways to be an upright professor, a woman stumbled into the street. I didn't see her on time and I ran into her, knocking her on the floor.
"I'm so sorry." I said.
I bent low to help her up. She looked like she was distressed and was about to decline my outstretched hand until our eyes met.
Her green eyes scanned my face and she smiled. She had a pretty face and judging by her dressing, she had been on a date in the restaurant across the street.
A woman getting dressed up to go to a restaurant just so she can eat alone was madness.
Just as I helped her back up, a man rushed out of the restaurant. His face was deep red.
"Why did you leave like that?" He said completely ignoring me.
The woman sighed but I noticed she edged closer to me. Her hands wrapped around my arm. I wasn't sure what was happening but I decided to play along.
"It was a nice night, Brad." She said in a delicate voice." But it's late already. I'm lucky I ran into Dean."
I guess I'm Dean now.
"He's my next door neighbor. He has offered to walk me home."
Brad's face crumbled. He hadn't been expecting his night out with this impossibly attractive woman to endd like this. Maybe he had been hoping to get lucky. Poor guy.
"But Jayne-"
She poked my side. I got the message immediately. It was time to move.
"Goodnight Brad." I said with a smile.
My night wasn't going to be as bad as I thought after all…
