CHAPTER 1
Isha"s Pov.
I put on my red lipstick while I stared at how beautiful I looked in the mirror while wearing the gown Alex bought for me a month ago.
Alex has been the best thing that has happened to me, and now our wedding is tomorrow, and I couldn't wait to surprise him today at the office. He has really been busy with the whole wedding preparation, and that's why he hasn't come to see me lately.
I met Alex six months ago at the coffee shop where I was working. He always comes there looking happy and to clear his mind, according to him. Then I could only admire him from afar because of how dashing and hot he looked. Until one day, he came up looking so sad, and I couldn't help but ask what the problem was. Even though we didn't know each other by name, he opened up to me. He told me that he had a big client to meet around 8 pm, and he didn't have a date; he had just broken off things with his ex, and now he didn't know what to do. So I volunteered immediately without even thinking straight. Since it was 8 pm, and I had closed from work at 7 pm, I felt it was a good idea to help him out.
It was a business meeting, so I decided to dress simply. I picked a straight navy blue gown that actually shows my curves very well, despite the fact that sometimes I try to hide it but to no avail. I put on a black heel to help my 5’3” to 5' 8” and allowed my hair to loosen down to cover my open back. I kept my makeup so light to complement my rounded face and my eyeglasses to look a little bit serious.
Alex had come by 7:50 pm to pick me up and couldn't stop staring at me. His stare alone was building fire in me. I never believed that from admiring from far I could be this close to talking to him. We arrived at the location and met up with his client, an older gentleman who was to sign a deal with him but could only do that if Alex had a woman in his life. That was when I found out my role in following Alex to the meeting. I had charmed the older man, and he signed a deal with Alex. He praised our relationship and prayed it would last for a long time.
When the client left, Alex was so excited and thanked me for saving him and his company. And after that day, he kept calling me sometimes to go on a business meeting with him until he asked me out on a date and I became his girlfriend and am now engaged to him to be married tomorrow.
The excitement curled up a smile on my face.
I grabbed my purse and whispered to my reflection, “Mrs Isha Williams." The name tasted sweet on my tongue.
I finally arrived at Alex's company, or rather, our company, since we will be getting married very soon.
“Hi Gabriel,” I greeted one of the staff on the first floor before heading upstairs..
“Hi, Isha, I thought you had come in earlier, or did you go out again?”
“Come in earlier?" I asked myself while I kept staring at Gabriel with a confused look.”
“No, I'm just coming in now,” I finally responded to him.
“Oh.. Maybe I'm wrong..sorry about that,” he said and went over to his desk.
That was strange. I started making my way upstairs, then went over to his secretary's table. Me and Rose, his secretary, are really good friends. I love the way she treats me, and she also admires our relationship. Rose is ten years older than me, and I see her as my elder sister since I didn't have one.
“Hi Rose,” I said, and went over to greet her, but I noticed the frown on her face. It seems like she doesn't want to see my face.
“Rose…” I called out to her again, and she finally responded.
“I called you earlier, but you decided to ignore me and I thought that maybe I had wronged you and now here you are smiling at me and wanting me to smile back,” Rose said, and I could feel the hurt in her voice, but I was confused because there was no way I could ignore Rose. I just decided to apologize, not wanting to ask anything or offend her further, and she finally smiled at me.
I got up immediately and started heading over to Alex's office. I knew he would be surprised to see me because I didn't call him to let him know I was coming. While heading to his office, I kept thinking about what Rose and Gabriel said… seeing me earlier?… it wasn't making any sense.
It wasn't possible, unless…
No... No...
No, it can't be because she is actually out of town and I haven't seen her for a year now…
As I put my hand to open the doorknob, my heart started racing all of a sudden.
Opening the door only confirmed my fears.
Alex, my fiancé…my tomorrow…was thrusting in and out on a woman on his table. He grabbed her hips with his hands. His head, thrown back.
We are waiting until marriage, his voice echoed in my memory. I respect you very much, Isha.
For a full minute, all I could do was stare; I couldn't find my voice to say anything.
My bag fell to the ground with a soft thud. I kept biting my cheeks and didn't realize how hurt it was until now. Tears had clouded my vision.
And they both didn't know that I was standing there.
Alex and I had never had s*x, he did everything for me, but never wanted s*x. We both agreed till after marriage.
“Mmhm, that's it, baby, you f**ked me so good,” the girl moaned, and I couldn't help but was shocked at the voice I heard.
Something inside of me broke, screaming at me to turn my back and leave quietly and never show my face again.
But something stronger dared me to stay. And so I did.
“Alex?”...my voice cracked. “Isabelle?”
They both turned to look at me. Same face, same body, and seeing her, I broke down more but still kept the tears from flowing down my eyes.
But before I could say anything…
Isabelle got away from Alex and walked over to where I was standing, still naked.
“Longest time, twin sister.”
