A New Neighbour
Everyone except my step mom gathered outside the gate to talk about uncle Alex's newly bought car. From my room, I could view the neighbourhood so I didn't bother wasting my energy. "Alex don blow oo" I heard Lucy, our compound drama queen, say aloud. Why were they over excited about a new car? Could it be because Alex just moved in a week back?. Well, it wasn't much of my concern but something was strange about uncle Alex. Everyone in Wale's block had their little secrets and dirty stories, and I knew almost all, including the story of aunty Lucy who was a regular "runs girl" for the " chiefs" in the area and beyond. I have tried without any result, to get a hint on Alex who seemed flawless. He had a dark complexion covering a well built body. I'm sure he spent most of his weekends at the gym because he was too fitted for my liking. His height intimidated all male flatmates, including my dad. To make it worse for the slay queens, he also got the most charming smiles coming from a well created handsome face. Alex got them talking. The women gossiped him for no just course and the single ladies were always giving him the greenlight. I saw most of them smiling at him to still a minute of his time, but Alex didn't seem to be moved.  The chattering outside got to a halt when our landlord, Wale drove home. Everyone started strolling off slowly. My landlord was a particularly "no nonsense man" yet, his only daughter, Funkie had the whole town on a pause and that earned her my hatred. She had the back and front gadgets, and a round face to complement the packaging. She was a head turner and damn, her secrets werent little, I had lots of her files on my laptop. She was a dirty little slut, that was ever hungry for whatever she could lay her hands on between the legs of a man. "What is going on here? " Our Landlord asked Sunny, the gateman. "Oga, me no know oo. But e be like say oga Alex don buy moto. " he explained in pidgin. I could see the landlord voice out more words but I didn't hear them. He didn't seem happy for the new car though. That slut came out to help her pot bellied father with his briefcase and I dropped my window blinds and returned to my laptop.  Actually, Chief Wale's compound had a watch guard, and that was me. My dad had a tech company and I managed to borrow some spycams from his shop, although he didn't even know I borrowed something from him, I hoped to return them when I had no more use for them, and that would be when the world became a better place without little secrets. I wondered why my step mom didn't show up at the gate. What was she doing? Curious, I pick up the signal coming from her room with my laptop. She was on a call and the smiles on her face read volumes. Could she be speaking with my dad? I checked my watch and it was 2:35pm, dad would be very busy with work now. That settled, who was this gold digger they called my step mother calling? She stayed on the call long enough to increase my curiosity. Once she dropped the call, she took off her robes, flaunting her full form, endowed with melons that got my dad trapped. This witch began massaging her bossoms and next thing, she disappeared into the bathroom just to resurface in about twenty seconds to pick another call. Right then, I knew she wasn't calling my dad; she was certainly speaking with a new client.  ......... "Emilia!" My step mom shouted at the top of her voice, "your dad is home. Get your lazy ass down here now!" She sounded more like the slut she was. Grunting, I carefully shutdown my computer, took my phone and walked down to the parlour to meet Mr. Edward who happened to be my dad. What's up with the 'E' thing though? I always asked why he and my mom named me Emilia to compensate the Edwards, making it a double 'E' and I never got an answer from either parents until the divorce. "Welcome dad" I said as the stressed out old nerd gave me a hug before settling down next to his slutty wife on the couch. I almost told my loving. As I carried his bag upstairs to their room, a sparky idea came up, and I was so blessed to have found her phone carefully placed on the bed, and protected with a security pattern. I have watched her over the camera draw the patterns like a million times so breaking the code was an issue task. Diverting her call took me some seconds, maybe a minute and I was almost when I heard them laughing on their way up. I knew this ritual; each time dad came back, whether he was dying of stress or not, my step mom ensured they spent at least two hours in the bedroom, making out like teenagers which I enjoyed watching before I got other people acting live-adult-videos for me. I quickly turned off the phone light and dropped it. "What kept you in there for so long?" She asked as I walked passed them. "Nothing mum" was all I said before leaving the couple. I didn't want to watch them for that day so I took my own time outside. "Hey dear Miriam, come over here! " sister Catherine called out from their balcony. Sister Kate was my favorite neighbor who had no snitch on her. She was a good christian. She was my age but she looked older. Maybe that's because she never used any make ups as I did, but she was still beautiful. "Katty baby! How far na" I smiled genuinely. "Hey, I'm Catherine or you can simply call me Kate. Emily, I have warned you oh. Stop adding those your worldly compliments before someone else will start calling me that in front of my father please." It was a warning but I was already used to this particular warning. "Is your daddy back?" I inquired as I looked around for a sign of Mr. Paul's Toyota Camry which didn't seem to be in the big compound. "He will be coming in late today. Why?" She asked "Nothing sha. I just got curious. He hasn't been coming back at his usual time of recent." That wasn't planned but I know she almost suspected me as she starred at me for a split moment before adding "Well, my dad is a catechist. Whatever thoughts you had should better be positive. " We laughed as we continued our gist. Sister Catherine was a bubbling and sexy christian girl that got heads turning but no man dared to approach her for fear of being rebuked. She wouldn't go anywhere without her Bible, and no day went by without the neighbourhood hearing her voice as she preached. I loved her because she wasn't keeping any skeleton in her cupboard. We chatted for a while before Mr. Paul came back and Catherine followed him into their apartment as she waved me goodbye. From the information I gathered, Catherine lost her mom when she was just four and her dad refused to remarry, what a good man!.Lonely now, I walked three blocks ahead, listening to music on my Apple device, minding my business. That was when uncle Alex came back and before the over endowed man could come down from his car, aunty Lucy was already beside him, giggling like a fool. The young man divided his purchase which was in a well designed polythene with this 'drama queen' and went inside. He didn't seem pleased with the actions of the compound single ladies. Everything was almost perfect with uncle Alex but I had a notch that he wasn't totally without secrets. I had a greater task here to fetch his sins and weigh them before it was too late. That evening was like every other one as I walked around the compound, greeting unnecessary people. I didn't like it but it was better than listening to that slut of a step mother screw up my already to tired father. I wondered why my dad chose her after my mom left. The thought of my mom dragged me to a stop by the gate. My parents separated few days to my fifteenth birthday for some reasons I didn't know. They went through divorce and my dad had to keep me under his custody by the court ruling. I missed my mom because I couldn't reach her as she was told never to come anywhere near me. That was a wicked judgment. For more than three years, I battled with depression but my dad didn't seem to notice. My dad got remarried to his secretary once the divorce papers were signed. I didn't like the idea but Aisha moved in immediately after their court marriage. That slut wanted me to give her all the respect in the world, but how could I respect a gold digger? I knew it from the start that she married my dad because of his money. The thoughts coming from the past got interrupted by Sunny. He was touching my back slowly as I sat with my back to him. "Uncle Sunny, please stop that. I have told you not to try that thing with me again. " I was both angry that he broke my thoughts and I hated him for constantly lashing Funke, the Landlord's daughter."Ah, calm down na. Wetin sef? You dey act like say the thing no dey hungry you. Why una like to pretend sef" Sunny just spoilt my evening completely with that statement. I quietly walked away, back to the house but deep down, Sunny needed to be punished.
