Cole's POV
Marching back through the halls of Blackfur I feel Meredith's anxiety rising higher and higher beside me with each step, my ongoing silence and Hugo's more than awkward and quiet goodbye only adding fuel to the fire.
"Its fine" I breathe as we approach my door, "Just some things I need to figure out back home".
"Anything I can help with?" she asks curiously, hopefully.
"No" I sigh, clearing my throat and turning to face her as we finally reach my door.
"It's... personal" I confess, my eyes moving from the ground to hers as I do.
"Ah" she nods, swallowing down some of her worries before she looks back up at me.
"I might need to return home sooner than expected" I admit, seeing no other way, knowing if I leave it long enough my parents are bound to wind up coming here to fi
