The forest seemed to hold its breath.
Seraphina stood between Lucian and Caelan, staring at Damien.
The mysterious man's red eyes moved slowly between the three of them.
“Three bloodlines,” he repeated. “Three heirs. And only one can survive what is coming.”
Caelan's hands ignited with dark flames.
“You're not taking me.”
Damien smiled.
“I don't need to.”
His gaze shifted to Seraphina.
“She will bring you to me.”

“You seem very confident.”

The words sent a chill through her.
Lucian stepped forward.
“You've had enough.”
Damien laughed.
“You still think this is about you.”
