Chapter 7: And I Thought Vegas Was Weird

Destiny’s Point Of View

It has been a week since Jake and I have first slept together and I have been feeling off for the entire time since. And it is getting even more weird cause this has never happened. Jake has started to notice that I am acting differently and been craving random things and that I have been glowing with this weird aura.

“Destiny, honey are you okay you have been acting a bit off and you have been glowing more then normal,” Jake asks.

“I don’t know I have been feeling off for the past week but not in a bad way so it is very weird,” I say.

“Hmm, maybe we should get a test just to be sure cause we weren’t exactly careful,” Jake says.

“Okay but what happens if I am pregnant I mean w haven’t even talked about what we are,” I say.

“That is true but I won’t leave you high and dry with a kid that is for sure. I ain’t that type of guy,” Jake says.

“I know that you ain’t but I am still petrified of this,” I say.”

“I know darling and I understand I mean it is a big change for someone who is only nineteen and just had s*x with a rockstar, but I promise that I will love and be there for you both if you are,” Jake says.

“Okay let’s do this,” I say standing up.

We head out the door and to the car to get the test from the store. The drive is tense but not uncomfortable. My leg is bouncing up and down as we drive along the road. Jake’s hand comes to rest on my leg as a calming gesture.

We finally pull into a drugstore parking the car and heading inside to get the test. As we walk the aisles looking for the tests we keep our heads down so Jake doesn’t get noticed.

We find the best test we can and we pay for it and leave the store heading back to the car. We get in the car and drive off heading back to Jake’s house so I can take the test.

Once back at his house I head to his bathroom that is connected to his room to take the test while he waits in the bedroom for me to come out with the results. The time ticks by super slowly.

We both get more and more anxious as the timer on my phone ticks down from five minutes to zero. After what feels like an eternity the timer on my phone goes off and I grab the test heading to the bedroom so we can look together.

“Ready on three. One. Two. Three,” Jake says.

We flip the test over and see the two pink lines that formed on the test and my breath catches in my throat. The panic is setting in for me while Jake is standing there in shock.

“And I thought Vegas was weird,” I mutter.

That comment earns a chuckle from Jake. The panic and shock are slowly fading as we chuckle about my comment.

“So it looks like we are gonna have a kid and we don’t even know if we are dating or are just messing around and co parenting,” I say.

“We will figure out what we are in due time for now lets focus on being co parents,” Jake says.

“Yeah but we will have to tell your band and my mom and Elianna,” I say.

“Yeah we will but that will be the easy part,” Jake says.

“That is true cause the hardest parts will be labor and raising the kid, but I am ready for this if you are,” I say.

“You bet your ass that I am,” Jake says with a smirk.

I laugh at that comment already feeling more at ease with this whole situation despite knowing that my mom and Elianna wil freak out then be super happy for me.

“So what gender do you think we are gonna have?” Jake asks.

“I’m thinking that we will have a girl but that is just me and I will be happy with either gender,” I say.

“Same here,” Jake says.

“Okay how about you call your band and I will handle my mom and Elianna,” I say.

“That sounds like a fair trade off,” Jake says.

Jake steps out of the room to make the call to his bandmates that are hanging out at Kooper’s right now.

“Hey Koop put the phone on speaker and tell the guys to gather around I have news,” Jake says into the phone.

“Okay will do but what’s up Jake?” Kooper asks.

“Well the thing is Destiny and I had slept together a week ago and we both weren’t exactly careful and she is now pregnant with my baby,” Jake says.

“Holy s**t man this is crazy but amazing,” Matt says.

“Yeah you are insane dude,” Wonitta says.

“I second that statement,” Kyle says.

“I’m with them on this one,” Kooper says.

“Okay well I have to go,” Jake says.

After he hangs up I call my mom and she and Elianna have similar reactions but then they are super happy for Jake and I. After we both finish the calls we head to eat and then head to bed both of us very tired after the long day of drama and symptoms. As we both sleep on the same bed Jake’s hand rests protectively over my stomach as we both sleep with smiles of happiness and contentment. This may not have been planned but we both have accepted this and are kinda super happy about it.

We both sleep cuddled up into each other which makes us both look adorable especially with Jake’s hand resting on my stomach. Not that I mind one bit I love how close he is too me in this very moment. It makes me feel safe with this unexpected turn.
