Preface: Destiny Marie Bellamy
Destiny is an eighteen year old girl. She has been struggling with her mental health for a few years now. She doesn’t smile as much as she normally does. She doesn’t brighten up when doing her favorite things or when she is around her friends and family. Her mom is having issues getting through to her when she is in this state. It is making her mom’s life harder then it needs to be and she is at a lost as what to do to help her daughter feel better. She has tried everything. Like sending her to therapy putting her on medication that just only causes super bad side affects. Her mom is trying her best but is running out of options. So she calls Destiny’s best friend Elianna over to discuss what she should do. Cause the only thing that she hasn’t tried to do is send Destiny away to her old family friend Jake Segura aka the lead singer for the mental health band Citizen Soldier. Elianna walks into the house shutting the door quietly as not to disturb Destiny who is in her room no doubt laying in bed trying to sleep. “Hey Mrs. Bellamy,” Elianna says. “Hey Elianna come sit we need to talk,” Mrs. Bellamy says. “Okay what do we need to talk about. Is this about Destiny?” Elianna says. “Yeah its about her. I don’t know what do anymore. She ain’t getting any better. In fact she is getting worse and the medication ain’t helping her at all,” Mrs. Bellamy says. “So what are you thinking about doing to help her?” Elianna asks. “I’m thinking about sending her to my old friend Jake Segura he is a clinical therapist and also is in a band called Citizen Soldier. They make mental health songs,” Mrs. Bellamy says. “And you think that he could help her?” Elianna says. “Yeah I mean she might find herself again and find more then she ever thought she deserves,” Mrs. Bellamy says. “Then if you feel so strongly then do it. Cause not only will it give you piece of mind but it might help her more then anyone thinks,” Elianna says. “Okay then I will thanks for talking with me sweetie,” Mrs. Bellamy says. Elianna gets up and heads to the front door and leaves with a heavy heart knowing that there is nothing she can do to help her best friend get out of this slump. The door closes behind her. Mrs. Bellamy pulls out her phone and dials Jake’s number hoping he can take Destiny. “Hello?” He says into the phone. “Hey Jake it’s me we need to talk,” Mrs. Bellamy says. “Oh hey Evalynn. Long time no hear and what’s wrong you sound worried and stressed,” he says. “Well its about Destiny. She has been really depressed recently and nothing that I try seems to work so I am wondering if you could take her for little seeing if this could help her,” Evalynn says. “Oh my goodness Evalynn of course I can help. I wont be able to get her for a couple more weeks but I can take her after I get everything set up,” Jake says. “That is understandable and thank you so much for helping me even though we haven’t spoken in a few years,” Evalynn says. “Honey it don’t matter how long it has been since we talked I will always help you no matter how long we haven’t spoke,” Jake says. “Thanks,” Evalynn says. They hang up and Jake immediately starts cleaning out the guest room in his house to set up for Destiny. He moves the stuff he had in that room and places it all in the storage room that he has in the hall way. He starts making the bed in Destiny’s favorite color which is purple cause Destiny’s hair is purple. Then he adds small personal items that Evalynn has sent to him from Destiny’s room. He also adds some of his music to make it more appealing to Destiny when he goes to get her in two weeks. After he has the room set he head to the store to get enough food and some other items for Destiny’s room and her bathroom. He gets a new TV for Destiny’s room. Destiny’s favorite shampoo and conditioner along with her favorite body wash. He also gets a bunch of food for the house and a mini fridge to put in Destiny’s room and he also gets Destiny’s favorite drinks and snacks to put in the mini fridge. Once he is done shopping for the house and for Destiny’s room he pays and heads out to his car to drive back to his house to finish setting up before his band meeting. He arrives home and unloads his car taking everything inside it is only twelve in the afternoon. His band meeting is at three in the afternoon. He puts away the food for the main part of house then takes the mini fridge and heads to Destiny’s room to set up the mini fridge and the bathroom. He get the mini fridge filled with the snacks and the drinks. Then he gets the stuff put in the bathroom and sets up the TV in Destiny’s room before heading to his room to get ready for his band meeting. Once he is dressed he heads to the front door to leave for the meeting. He leaves and gets in the car driving to the studio where the band is waiting. The band being Matt Duffney who plays guitar, Kooper Hanosky who also plays guitar, Wonitta Rivero who plays bass and keyboards, and Kyle Persell who plays drums. “Hey man what too you so long?” Kyle asks. “I had to go shopping and set up my guest room,” Jake says. “Why did you have to set up the guest room?” Kooper asks. “Well it is a long story and its not my place to say,” Jake says.
