Chapter 2: Dead To Rights

Destiny’s Point Of View

As we get out of the car when we pull into the drive of Jake’s house. It is drop dead gorgeous and the front lawn is beautiful.

“This is amazing,” I whisper to Jake.

“Thanks,” Jake says proudly.

He leads me in and the inside is even better then the outside.

“This is just wow,” I say.

He chuckles and leads me through the house. Once we get to a door it has purple accents and I give the first smile I have had in awhile.

“Your smiling that’s an improvement,” Jake says.

“Yeah I guess it is,” I say.

He opens the door revealing my new room that makes me gasp in shock at how beautiful it is. I take a step inside the room and look around at the space. I see the door to the new ensuite bathroom.

“This is beautiful,” I say in awe.

“I’m glad you like it,” Jake says.

Jake leaves the room and heads down the stairs to his living room. To chill out after the long drive and to let me have some time to get adjusted to the new surroundings and decide if I wanna open up.

Jake’s Point Of View

I sit down on my couch and look on my phone really happy that Destiny is talking and showing some sort of emotion. I pull up her mom’s contact. I press the call button.

“Hey Jake how is she settling in?” Evalynn says.

“She’s doing better than we both thought she would,” I say.

“That’s amazing what is she doing that we didn’t expect?” She asks.

“She started by talking to me on the drive out to LA,” I say.

Her mom gasps in shock and pure happiness.

“She did,” Evalynn says her voice emotional.

“Yeah she did and then she even showed some emotion when she saw the house and her new room,” I say.

Her mom breaks down slightly but its not in sadness. It is in pure happiness.

“Thanks,” Evalynn says.

We hang up and I lean back into the couch.

Evalynn’s Point Of View

After the call with Jake I excitedly dial Elianna’s number with shaking hands.

“Hello?” Elianna says.

“Elianna. I have amazing news,” I say.

“What’s up Mrs, Bellamy,” she says.

“I just heard from Jake who took Destiny earlier today,” I say.

“And?” She says.

“He said that she is talking more and even showed some emotion for the first time is a while,” I say.

“That is amazing and wonderful,” she says.

“Yeah I know I am super relieved that she is finally talking and showing even the smallest bit of emotion,” I say.

“I know I am too Mrs. Bellamy,” she says.

We hang up and I move around the house with a bit more pep in my step.

Destiny’s Point Of View

I sit on the bed in the room inside Jake’s house and I feel like I will like it here. Its not as bad as I thought it would be. I stand up and start unpacking and placing things in my closet and then start placing my stuff in my bathroom. After I am done unpacking I head downstairs to talk to Jake for a little bit.

“Hey,” I say softly as I walk into the living room.

“Hey there Destiny,” Jake says looking up as I walk in.

“So this place is like amazing,” I say.

“I’m really glad you like it. So is there anything that you wanna talk about?” He asks.

“Well honestly I don’t really know what caused it,” I say.

“That’s is perfectly normal,” Jake says.

“I guess it felt like I was losing my whole life that I don’t exactly know how or why,” I say.

“Understandable,” he says.

“Thank you for bringing me here. This has helped bring my mood up so much more than I thought it was,” I say.

“You’re welcome sweetie. I am glad to help you and your mom.” he says.

“So tell me more about this band you have,” I say super excitedly.

“Well we are called Citizen Soldier and we make mental health based music to create a group therapy feeling among our fans,” Jake says.

“That is amazing I would love to hear it and meet your band at some point during my stay,” I say with a real smile not the fake one I used to put on for my mom.

“Sure you name the time and place,” Jake says with that same warm smile.

“How about tomorrow,” I say.

“That sounds like a plan. Why don’t you go to your room and rest and I will come and get you when dinnner is ready,” he says.

“Okay that sounds like a good idea,” I say.

I head upstairs. Once I get to my room. I sit on the bed and take off my shoes and head to the bathroom. I turn on the shower and I feel the pressure and immediately fall in love with it. I step in and let the water wash over me and wash away the sweat from the long drive.

Once I am done showering I head to sit on the bed and turn on the tv to watch something and relax until dinner is ready. I settle on a turn crime show and curl up on the bed with my phone in my hand.

I scroll through my phone and watch tv. Once dinner is done I head down and eat before returning to my room to get ready to head to bed for the night seeing as I am meeting Jake’s band tomorrow. As I lay in the bed I feel myself falling asleep with ease unlike I used too. I am starting to feel like my normal self again. And I don’t seem to mind this anymore. I fall asleep smiling which is abnormal from my normal scowl that I was wearing before coming out here. I really love this.
