Maybe I was right since the start, I wasn't supposed to find the girl of my dreams in this so-called 'coming of age' story. At least he was someone worth my time; the ginger boy. He doesn't seem to talk so well with me, maybe I looked too intimidating. He does look a tad bit too skinny for a teenage boy, frail, hands and legs resembled sticks.  I gave him back his sketchbook willingly, as he tried to reevaluate his sentence. He was stuttering, and his hands were filled with sweat. He was nervous, no doubt about that. Simon. The name fits him well. I remembered when his cheeks went bright red when I complimented his work, as he hides his eyes from me. I don't quite see boys act like that often, while most boys take on a much more 'manly' or 'tough' persona instead of acting like they truly are inside. But realistically, all that's just the society's implementation of gender roles, restraining us from who we really want to be. But at the end of the day, we still go by those roles given to us since birth in order to be normal and socially acceptable. But what truly is normal? The whole concept of normality is just rules and lies the society was built by, the ones we blindly follow, and pass on as time wastes by. Maybe Simon strays from these lies. He might be a great person to be with too. I do need a friend. Perhaps we might have a chance to talk again. I really hope so.
