The next morning, Blair went to school an hour earlier than usual. She lied to her boyfriend and parents that her coach asked her to come to school early in the morning. After putting down her things on her desk, she went outside the room and leaned on the railings. Blair is watching the students from the 3rd floor, looking for a specific person. Based on Blair's observations, she will arrive any moment now, of course, it was none other than Catalina. Blair failed to get a good night's sleep last night even though she had a great day, well except for the fact that Yves ended up the one who will get Catalina home. She kept thinking about Catalina.
Did she get home safe last night? Did Yves say something weird last night? Did Yves do something weird last night?
Blair kept thinking about what if Yves confessed to Catalina and Catalina gave Yves a chance, after all, Catalina never did say that she doesn't like Yves. Even though Catalina rejected Yves last year, it doesn't mean that Catalina will always reject him. Yves can be right, that this time maybe he has a bigger chance in Catalina and Blair is worried about that. She's aware that she's being a selfish b***h but she really can't take it if Catalina got herself a lover. She wants Catalina to be hers but at the same time not because she knows that she will just end up hurting her. Her parents won't allow that type of relationship and she can't argue with them.
A smile automatically made on Blair's lips when she finally spotted the raven head girl that made her gay despite trying her best not to be.
Catalina is singing the song that's playing on her earphones in a low voice. She was way too happy than usual, making it so obvious that something great really happened. When Catalina lost in Blair's sight, because Catalina finally entered the building and probably will get into the stairs already, Blair readied herself. She takes big breaths, to get rid of her nervousness and straighten her uniform. Blair tried to be natural, she planned to pretend that she's looking at the students below and not waiting for Catalina at all.
Catalina is not expecting to see Blair in the hallway so she panicked a little bit, thinking what she should do while trying to convince her heart to calm down.
Should I greet her as if we're close? Or should I just smile at her when she looked back? But what if she ignores me? I don't know what to do.
Catalina no longer needs to think of what she should do because Blair did it for her. When Catalina was close enough to her as she saw with her peripheral view, Blair looked back at her and gave Catalina a warm smile. Because Catalina didn't expect that smile, she ended up biting her lower lip first before returning that smile.
"Hi, Catalina. Good morning."
"Hello, Blair. Good morning to you too."
Catalina said and removed her earphones on her ear, stopping in front of Blair.
Blair feels so nervous. She suddenly feels the need to ask herself if this decision of her, talking to Catalina like this is good but since she no longer has the chance to get out of the situation she decided to just ignore her conscience.
“Ahm. Did you had fun yesterday?”
Catalina once again smiled, suddenly remembering those scenes of her and Blair being close to each other that she never thought can possibly happen.
“Yeah. I never thought going to arcade places can be that fun.”
That wasn’t a lie. Catalina really did enjoy yesterday but she believes that the primary reason why she enjoyed arcade games that much is that she’s with Blair. If she wasn’t with Blair, she won’t even consider going there.
“Well, it depends on your companion.”
Blair said and gave Catalina a wink, suddenly feeling brave.
Because Catalina never expected that, the blush on her face became visible as well as the smile that’s fighting her way out on Catalina’s lips.
“Then you’re saying you’re a great companion?”
Catalina teased, raising one of her brows playfully.
Blair doesn’t know what goes on in her mind and suddenly leaned her face close to Catalina, getting into the same level of Catalina’s eyes. Getting a closer look at each other’s faces.
“Aren't you the one who can answer that Catalina?”
Blair said in a low sexy voice but still reach Catalina’s ears. Blair’s action completely shut off Catalina. Her smile lost its way on her lips and what she can only do is stare at Blair’s deep gray hazel eyes. Catalina is trying to focus on the situation because she's so close to screaming to release her emotions. She’s trying to assess how the heck they get this closed. Catalina glanced at Blair's lips, biting her own lower lip in the process.
It looks like it's calling me, begging me to close the distance.
Catalina doesn't know who moved their face even closer than they are earlier. They are now feeling each other's breaths on each other's faces. Blair's perfume, the sound of her heartbeat, and the fact that she's having a hard time breathing are making Catalina dizzy. And when their noses touched, something exploded inside Catalina then her vision went black. She was about to fall on the ground, but luckily Blair managed to catch Catalina.
When Catalina opened her eyes again, she's already in a room that she assumed was the clinic. Catalina tried to reminisce what happened, why she fell and when she remembered, she blushed so hard. She can't believe that she passed out due to the overflowing emotions and tingly feelings that Blair made her feel. Catalina thought that it was only possible on manga and anime but it was literally what happened to her so yeah.
Catalina snapped her head at the side when the curtains were suddenly pushed apart. Disappointment is what became visible on Catalina's face when instead of Blair, Suzy is the one who gets into her view. Well, you can't really blame Catalina to assume that it was Blair. After all, Blair is the one who brought her there so there's nothing wrong with staying and waiting for her to wake up, right?
"Wow, what's with the disappointed face?"
"I thought you were Blair."
Catalina lifelessly said, facing the other side of the bed and searching for her phone.
"Well, actually Blair is just there sitting and waiting for you to wake up."
Suzy said, pointing to the direction that was being covered by the curtain.
Catalina gets the white blanket off her body to get off the bed and face Blair.
“What? Why didn’t you-”
“Just kidding. She’s not here. She’s in her class now.”
Suzy said giving Catalina a bright smile and a peace sign.
Catalina didn’t say anything and just glared at her best friend, sitting at the bed and leaning her back on the wall.
“But she’s here earlier. She actually wants to stay here and wait for you to wake up but her boyfriend came and reminded her about her classes.”
Suzy took a seat beside her, fixing Catalina’s hair for her.
“That jerk again. Geez.”
Catalina said, glaring at the blanket as if it was Jared.
“What happened earlier? Why did you pass out? I was so shocked when Blair went to me, early in the morning and said you passed out.”
Catalina blushed, getting embarrassed at how simple and weird the 'reason' was.
“I-It’s because I was so overwhelmed at w-what happened.”
“Overwhelmed? In what? What happened?”
Catalina blushed even more and buried her face on her knees, hugging them close to her, not minding the fact that she’s wearing a skirt.
Suzy covered Hestia’s bare legs for her and tried to make eye contact with her best friend but Catalina is avoiding her eyes.
“I-I thought Blair’s going to k-kiss me.”
Suzy almost laughed at that, can’t believe what she just heard.
“Are you sure that wasn’t a dream?”
Suzy first received a slap on her forearm and glare from Catalina before Catalina opened her mouth to speak.
“What do you think of me? That crazy to dream about that? I mean, yes, of course, I used to imagine how it would be if Blair kissed me but I clearly know what are dreams and realities. And it really happened. I-I really thought that Blair was going to kiss me ‘cause she suddenly leaned closer u-until our noses are already touching. A-And then, I passed out.”
Catalina explained making her best friend stunned for a moment.
“W-What? You’re still not believing me? Then-”
“No, I do believe in everything you said. I’m just shocked. I guess?”
“I can’t blame you, even I still can’t believe that that really happened. Maybe that’s the reason why I passed out because that was too much for me.”
Suzy gets her hands on Catalina’s hair and started braiding the side of it. Catalina just let her, she actually love it when Suzy braids her hair, she thought she looked so cute on it.
“Then what are guys talking about before you passed out?”
Catalina was about to answer Suzy’s question when the curtains are suddenly pushed apart again, revealing Rein and Hashmin who looks really worried.
“Oh my, bestie what happened? I heard you passed out. We’re in a class when we heard the news and that Social Studies teacher of us won’t let us leave the room to check on you. Geez, I hate that teacher.”
Hashmin grumbled while giving Catalina a hug.
“You’re overreacting Hashmin and please lower your voice, we will get in trouble if somebody heard you talk bad about someone.”
Hashmin ignored Rein and just focused on Catalina.
“So what happened? Why did you pass out?”
“Well-”
--
Catalina’s friends except for Rein, of course, have been teasing her since they learned every interaction between her and Blair. They are not mentioning Blair’s name though and saying ‘Myeongin’ instead. Myeongin is a manhwa character that Catalina actually the author is so obsessed with entitled ‘Relationship Guidelines’ that she’s reading on the Tapas app. And Catalina can’t do anything aside from blushing when they are teasing her.
It’s lunchtime and Catalina hasn’t seen Blair yet since their encounter this morning. She wants to see her but she’s not sure how will she react. She’s afraid that just seeing her will make her blush madly especially when that morning scene crossed her mind again.
Suzy, Rein, and Hashmin are probably in the cafeteria already while Catalina is on her way towards there. Catalina was called by their first-period teacher and just asked her some random worthless things.
Catalina sighed, hearing her stomach growled. She sped up her walk and because of that she didn’t see the person emerging to the said hallway, it was just a relief that the said person is quick to react and didn’t bump herself on Catalina. To Catalina’s surprise, it was Blair. Smile automatically made its way on their lips, thanking God that finally, they met again after that morning.
“Catalina. Are you okay now?”
“Ah yeah. Thank you for bringing me to the clinic.”
Catalina said shyly. Well, she’s always so shy and conscious of herself when Blair’s close.
“What happened actually? Why did you pass out?”
“Oh. I ah- s-skipped breakfast. Maybe that’s why I passed out.”
Catalina lied, there’s no way she will admit the real reason to Blair.
