Chapter 4Cash was a creep. He waited until Lex had fallen asleep. It took far longer than it should have, considering the time of day. Then he moved closer, buried his nose in the crook of Lex’s neck—careful not to wake him—and inhaled. His. His heart. His soul. His life. His Lex. Slowly, he turned over on his back and nudged Lex closer. He whimpered. A nightmare? It sounded like a nightmare—not strange since he’d been in a car crash. “Shh…” He ran his thumb over his neck in a circle as he’d always done when they’d been together. Lex melted against him, his breaths evening out. Cash relaxed with him. This was how they were supposed to be, always. Lex was sleeping draped over him where he belonged.
