Chapter 5Cash was shaking as he fought for control. His wolf urged him to mate with Lex before he could run away from them again, but Lex looked scared, wounded, and vulnerable, and Cash couldn’t handle it. His Lex should be smiling.
He wrapped his arms tighter around him. “I’d never hurt you.”
“You already have. You hurt me more than anyone else ever has.”
Cash flinched as if Lex had hit him. “I never meant to hurt you. I searched for you.”
“I needed you. My world fell apart, and I needed you to come with me, but you didn’t show.” Lex pushed at him to be let free, but Cash tightened his hold instead.
“I wanted to come, Lex. I wanted to run away with you, but when I fought Dad…When I won, I took over his position in the pack. I can’t leave. I have to stay in Warwood.”
