Blurb

The ballroom lights glittered like ice — beautiful, untouchable, and cold.

And somewhere in that crowd of diamonds and lies stood the man who would own her future.

Elena Carter never believed her life would become a business deal. But when her father’s company teeters on the edge of collapse and her ruthless stepmother signs away her fate, Elena is given a choice that isn’t a choice at all:

Marry Damien Winters, the billionaire known as the Ice King, or watch her family’s legacy turn to dust.

Damien Winters doesn’t believe in love. He believes in control — in contracts, logic, and numbers that never lie. Betrayed once, he built his empire on walls of ice, and he has no intention of letting anyone melt them. When he proposes to Elena, it’s not for passion. It’s for power.

But Elena isn’t the obedient bride he expected.

Fierce, witty, and unwilling to bend, she challenges his every rule and ignites emotions he thought were long dead. Every defiant glance, every sharp word between them, chips away at the walls around his heart. And every time he pulls away, she finds a way to reach the man behind the Ice King.

Their marriage begins as a transaction — but quickly turns into a battlefield of wills and desire. Elena’s fire threatens to burn through Damien’s icy armor, while his cold logic tempts her to surrender the independence she’s fought so hard to protect.

Yet beneath their growing attraction lies a darker secret — one that binds their families in betrayal and lies that stretch years into the past.

If the truth comes to light, it could destroy them both.

As love begins to blur the line between duty and desire, Elena must make an impossible choice:

Will she fight for her freedom and risk losing the man she’s come to love?

Or will she surrender to the Ice King — and discover that even the coldest heart can melt?

Married to the Ice King is a breathtaking billionaire romance filled with tension, secrets, and passion that burns through the frost.

A story of a woman’s courage to defy power, a man’s struggle to feel again, and the love that turns enemies into soulmates.

Chapterone-TheGalaBegins
The ballroom lights glittered too brightly, mocking me for pretending I belonged here. Diamonds flashed, champagne bubbled, and laughter floated through the air like perfume. Everyone looked as if they were born to belong in this golden cage. Everyone except me. I smoothed the satin of my borrowed gown, pretending my heart wasn’t pounding with dread. My family’s company—Carter Enterprises—was dying, and this gala was supposed to save it. But tonight wasn’t really about celebration. It was a hunt. And I was the bait. A manicured hand caught my arm. “Smile, Elena,” my stepmother, Vivian Carter, murmured through her perfect red lips. “Do try to look less… tragic. We need Damien Winters to see you at your best.” Damien Winters. The billionaire. The Ice King. The man who could save our empire—or crush it completely. I forced a smile. “Right. Because that’s what I am tonight. A display item.” Her eyes flicked over me like I was a product to be inspected. “Don’t start your dramatics. Your father’s reputation is already in tatters.” “His reputation?” I whispered. “You mean your comfort.” Her smile didn’t falter. “Watch your tone, dear. Cameras.” She floated away like a queen, leaving behind the faint scent of money and malice. A soft voice interrupted my spiraling thoughts. “Don’t let her words stick, my dear.” Grandma Rose stood beside me, her silver hair tucked neatly, her eyes gentle. She was the only person who could still make me breathe. I managed a weak smile. “She’s impossible.” Grandma Rose patted my hand. “So is surviving without dignity. Hold your head high, Elena. Even the proud must bow sometimes—just never break.” I swallowed hard and nodded. “You make it sound easy.” “It never is,” she said, smiling sadly. “But it’s necessary.” I drifted toward the champagne table, pretending interest in the sparkling glasses. Two men whispered nearby, their voices like knives. “Carter Enterprises is finished.” “Unless Damien Winters steps in. Ruthless man. He’ll bleed them dry first.” I froze. My stomach twisted. A third voice laughed. “Imagine being desperate enough to throw your daughter at him.” The glass slipped in my hand, nearly shattering. They didn’t even notice me standing there. I turned, ready to leave—ready to escape this humiliation—when I slammed straight into someone’s chest. Cold champagne splashed, gasps rose, and I stumbled back. My heart jumped into my throat. “Watch where you’re—” I began, then stopped. The man before me was tall, broad-shouldered, dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit. His expression didn’t flicker, not even when the drink soaked his sleeve. Damien Winters. The Ice King himself. He regarded me with those pale gray eyes that could freeze fire. “I see the Carter reputation for dramatics isn’t exaggerated,” he said smoothly, voice low and cutting. Laughter rippled from the crowd. My cheeks flamed. “I—I’m sorry—” He leaned slightly closer, just enough for his cologne—clean, cold, expensive—to reach me. “Be careful, Miss Carter,” he murmured. “Some debts can’t be paid with apologies.” He stepped away before I could reply, leaving a trail of whispers behind. The night air hit my skin like ice. I gripped the stone railing of the balcony, fighting the sting in my eyes. God, I’d made a fool of myself. And in front of him. “Fire and ice,” Grandma Rose’s voice came softly behind me. She draped her shawl over my shoulders. “Sometimes, my dear, you’ll need to burn just to survive the cold.” Before I could answer, the balcony doors swung open again. Vivian stood there, expression perfectly calm for anyone watching, but her eyes were venom. “Get back inside. You’ve humiliated this family enough for one night.” I lifted my chin. “Maybe I’m tired of being sold off like an auction piece.” Her smile sharpened. “You’ll do as I say, Elena. Or you’ll watch your father lose everything.” She turned and swept back inside, leaving silence in her wake. Grandma Rose squeezed my hand. “Remember, my dear,” she whispered. “Even the Ice King can melt.” I looked toward the ballroom doors, heart hammering. “Then let him try.”
