LUCAS’ POV I woke up irritated. Not just mildly annoyed. No, it felt like my skin didn’t fit right, like the world was pressing against me from all sides. And the main reason had a name: Tiffany Walter. The daughter of a senator. She just came into the country. She was painfully oblivious. And apparently my father’s new favorite accessory. He forced me to bring her to the football game. “It’ll look good,” he’d said. “Her father will appreciate it.” That meant I didn’t have a choice. I never had a choice with him.
