Tessa explained to me everything that's been going on. She told me that there's a rivalry between two gangs The poisonous snakes and The Orfeo. The poisonous snakes is the gang that was threatening my cousins and is the gang that my mom is in. The Orfeo is an Italian gang that is the richest gang in this city or probably state and they are the enemies of The poisonous snakes.
Something happened a couple of years ago that started a war between these two gangs but nobody really knows what happened except the two leaders of the gangs. Tessa told me that her mom and sister aren't apart of any of this gang nonsense but they have been watching out for anything suspicious.
"Tessa when you said that you're here to help me with the gang exactly what did you mean by that?"
"The orfeo is targeting you because somehow they found out that The poisonous snake's are after you and I'm here to help you."
"How did you find out what's going on overnight?" Tessa squirmed in her seat as I stared down at her. She was getting uncomfortable by my stare and that's when I knew that she wasn't telling me something.
"I...I" She let out a sigh and shook her head back and forth. "There's no use in lying to you because you're going to find out sooner or later. I'm in a gang...." I stood up out of my seat with a look of disbelief. "Teresa get out of my apartment NOW!" Tessa got up quickly with both her hands up as if she's trying to not startle me.
"Nana give me 2 minutes to explain everything and I promise that I will leave." I stared her down with one of my horrific glares before nodding my head. "You have 2 minutes to explain and hurry it up."
"okay...I'm in a gang but it's a thing that me and close friends made up. Me, and two others are in it and we are trying to find somebody who's really important to us and one of these gangs has this person somewhere hostage so we're trying to find out who has him." Tessa let out a breathe after saying this all in one blow.
"Okay but who is this person that y'all are looking for?"
"It's a boy and he's dear to me and my friends because he's one of my friends little brother and he's practically my best friend. He's smart and could get himself out of any situation but he's also really frail and sensitive because he's been through a lot and we NEED to find him before one of these gangs harm him." I nodded my head up and down to show that I was listening.
"Okay so what does any of this have to do with me?"
"Well my friend is a computer geek so she hacked into one of their phone calls after we found out the number to their phone and they mentioned something about you." I let in a sharp intake of breath before letting it out.
"Nana I have to get you out of here because I'm sure that this area is stacked with cameras and people trying to get to you." Tessa walked to the window that was behind the couch and peaked through the curtains.
"s**t! Nana we have to leave like right NOW! there's people outside with black suits and guns in their hands." Tessa ran to me and grabbed my arm. She ran to the door and checked both ways after she opened it then ran to the stairs. People were walking up the stairs toward us with a fast pace as the snap of a gun getting reloaded is heard. Tessa pulled me up a flight of steps before crouching down and looking through the silver bars of the railings to look at the people who are walking up the stairs.
4 men were dressed in nice black suits, visibly carrying guns in their hands. They walked through the door that led them to the other apartment rooms and as quickly as the speed of lightning they were out of my eye sight. "Come on Nana we have to leave before they start searching the building for you."
Tessa started pulling me up the stairs until we made it to the top of the roof which is a garage. She started passing car by car as she looked for her vehicle. "Tessa we're leaving my brand new motorcycle!" She glanced back at me and gave me a smirk.
"They already took your motorcycle however at the headquarters we have more so you can get a new one."
After dodging 3 more cars Tessa came to a stop in front of her very own motorcycle. "you didn't tell me that you can actually ride a motorcycle too!"
"Why else would I have motorcycles at headquarters Nana? Now hop on so we can get out of here." I got on the motorcycle after Tessa and we put on our helmets before she drove out of the garage. The garage exit is on the side of the building so as we exit the garage I saw fancy black cars with tinted windows and men wearing all black, trying to tuck their weapons into their suit jackets or pants waist.
The same man that I saw earlier was standing with the men in the parking lot and he was speaking to somebody on the phone. Tessa stopped at a red light and started looking at the scene in front of us. Another man walked to the man that I saw earlier and whatever he told him made the man turn towards me and Tessa.
Tessa helmets had microphones in them so I heard her when she said 's**t'. The men in the suits started getting in their cars and that's when Tessa decided to turn the corner. She started speeding down the street and dodging every car that is in the way. I turned around and saw a few of their black cars trying to make their way through the massive cars.
My heart beat was getting faster from adrenaline and fear of them catching up to us. "Tessa they're coming."
Tessa turned a sharp left and a few more sharp turns before she made it to an alleyway. She stopped and we got off the motorcycle. She opened a garage door and started pulling the motorcycle in the garage then she ran back out with me and closed and lock the garage. She ran up a fire escape with me behind her and opened a window.
I heard the loud screeches of what can only be cars and instantly knew that they were close. We climbed into the window and quickly shut it. Tessa closed the curtains and collapsed onto the bed that we landed on. We both kept breathing in and out onto our heart beats was in a steady pace.
"That was crazy." Came Tessa.
Looking around the room there were posters hung up with bands on them, a desk with maps on it, a dresser and a mini fridge. "come on Nana let's introduce you to the rest of the gang." Tessa walked out the bedroom door and I followed behind her, prepared for anymore craziness that comes my way.
