Dominic could barely do anything when he returned back to his house. Marcus had to have been called about the situation, and he helped Dominic inside without any questions. He sat on the couch, Harriet still hugging him tightly as she cried, while Marcus paced around the room, his phone to his ear. Finally, he left the room and Dominic could hear his voice out in the hall. Last night and this morning had turned from a dream into a nightmare. Dominic was ashamed of himself. He hadn’t been right there when Harriet had been snatched. He had frozen, unable to do anything for a moment. His daughter had almost been taken from under his very nose and Dominic hadn’t been able to react. If Angie hadn’t been there, Harriet would have vanished.
