“I don’t know what is this, but it feels like I’m hearing boss-like music in the background.”
Kaede muttered as she looks at the powerful foe appearing in front of her.
Melida's body was covered with her armor. Even though Kaede wanted to attack her head-on. It feels very dangerous. Kaede decided to put distance between her and Melida.
Yuki and clover meanwhile, were dumbstruck seeing Melida’s mecha form. As if they can’t believe that their such skill existing in the game.
“That mecha armor looks dangerous… And also, super cool at the same time! Go! Go! Go! Melida Go!”
Yuki started to feel excited.
“Just who are you siding Yuki? Anyway, I should not think about distractions… Skill is still skill… Each skill has its own rule to be activated right. If something powerful like that was a skill, that means there is a catch to it.”
Kaede thinks thoroughly something she usually never did.
Melida’s rocket and laser launchers were set on. She turned the target lock-on Kaede’s direction and with her trigger. Multiple laser and rockets were fired.
“White fortress Punishment!”
“Smokescreen!”
Using a smoke screen Kaede blocked Melida’s vision.
The laser and rocket made a destructive impact on the lakeside. Making the ground shake. Resulting in the three spectators to lost their balance in standing. Yuki falls on her butt and Clover's body falls on her face.
Yuki got angry for some unreasonable thing and pushed Clover's chest away from her.
“Don’t show off your watermelons!”
“W-Water melons?!”
The smoke thins out and disappeared.
“Repulse plus Defence buster!”
Yuki and Elise were surprised by Kaede's sudden appearance on Melidas front with her white sword in her hand. Yuki then remembered the skill Kaede used to defeat Amber two shield users.
“Defence buster make the damage triple when the Vit of the opponent was higher than hers.”
“Kaede doesn’t have much agility right? How did she move that fast? I know, I get it now… With her knowledge of evasion and bizarre eater. Kaede uses her bizarre eater to eat some of the rockets to gain MP and Knowledge of evasion to protect herself. And then she takes one attack to use her repulse skill. She then runs toward Melida who can’t move from her position to strike her down with defense buster skill!”
Melida tried to struggle to move then she noticed that her body was paralyzed.
“A paralyzing skill? When did she cast her paralyzing roar?”
There is no time left for Melida to dodge the terrifying sword of Kaede. Kaede swings her sword to Melida’s body. Breaking through Melidas armor.
“Aaaaaaaahhhhh!”
The defense buster made huge damage to Melida. But it's not enough to defeat her. Kaede must turn Melida’s HP to zero.
As someone Melida respect and idolizes. Kaede can’t let herself look lame and lose against her.
“Melida can’t move yet. It’s Kaede’s chance.”
“The armor white fortress is too heavy Melida can’t move when she’s using it. But in exchange, it can deliver powerful attacks.”
Elise said while she’s looking at the duel.
Kaede did her best to attack and decrease Melida’s HP little by little.
“Fortress release!”
Melida takes out her armor and goes back to normal granting her a bit of speed and recovering herself from her paralyzed state.
Even still, Kaede has the upper hand. Kaede’s sword can still reach her body.
“Defence buster!”
Melida immediately covered herself.
“Aaaaaaaahhhh!”
Melida’s sword broke revealing an opening. From Kaede’s left hand moon piercer sword was rising.
"Another sword? She's dual wielding?!"
“Sword s***h!”
High critical damage was dealt and with Melida’s defense broke out. Kaede pierced through Melida. Resulting in Melida’s HP goes down to zero.
Melida kneels on the ground and looks toward Kaede’s face.
“As expected you're truly strong… I will come back again and battle you again.”
“Yup, but I’ll be winning again next time.”
Kaede replied.
Melida made a brief grin and disappeared in light particles.
“If a player died in the game what happened to them in real life?”
Kaede asked turning her head to clover.
“Well, they are not able to log in for 24 hours. They will respawn in the nearest town they left before they die.”
Kaede smiled and make a peace sign to Yuki and Clover.
“Victory! I thought I’m a goner but I won. Also, Elise please say to Melida that it's very fun. I really enjoy it and got excited about the duel. I’m so hyped I can still feel the intense feeling of the battlefield.”
Despite her friend losing the duel. Elise seems satisfied with what she saw.
“I never think that I’m able to add to skills together as one. That’s new to me.”
“Same here.”
“My battle style keeps on evolving and evolving right now. Maybe the next time we find each other I will be your team's opponent.”
“Then, I’ll be looking forward to that! On that day, I’m the one who defeated you.”
“Let's see who's going to win… My partner already logs out. I better log out too. I have nothing to do anymore at this point. Before I left. It's said that the next event was another team event. Each team should have five or more players to participate. Let's meet at that event… Bye-bye….”
Her body disappeared in light. Meaning Elise already log out of the game.
“Another team event huh? We’re one of two players. Where are we going to find another two-player for our team?”
Kaede started to panic and put her hands on her head.
Yuki meanwhile opened a window that connects to the browser. She then searches for the next event.
“The next event was on August 12. It’s a squad battle royale according to the description. The last one standing was the victor. The top 25 teams will be invited to join the summer cup that will happen on August 29. There is two event coning and its starting two weeks from now.”
“We better find new comrades to train with then.”
While the three girls are in a panic about recruiting teammates. A girl walked and approached them. A girl with a bow on her back.
“If you are in trouble finding new teammates then maybe I can join your party.”
“Who are you?”
“I’m Saya I’ma Markman. Looking at your team composition you don’t have a long-range attacker. Also, I’m impressed with the fight I saw earlier. I think it's going to be fun teaming up with you.”
“Is that so then, feel free to join our party.”
Yuki pulled Kaede's sleeves and whispered.
“Is it really okay to let her join our team? She looks shady.”
“Well, we’re going to know her nature soon enough. I’m not planning on telling her everything about my skills. And it's just a game. Let's just have fun together.”
“You’re too trusting, but I don’t dislike that part of you.”
Invitation notification appeared in from of player Saya. Saya tapped accept and officially joined Kaede’s party.
“I have a friend she's a great shield used and magic-user at the same time. It's going to be great to have a tank in the team. With her, the team will have five members making all of us qualified in the next event.”
“That’s really helpful! Thank you so much, Saya.”
Kaede said and held Saya’s hands.
“I know this is quite rude to say, but why did you pick to join our party? Here are thousand of other parties out there.”
Yuki seriously asked.
“I’m naturally a solo player and I like hunting. And I have prayed to defeat. You see the top five guilds with the top players are going to join the summer cup. That means they will join the battle royale event on August 12 to be qualified. I can’t wait to shot arrows on their skulls! I order o defeat them I like to join powerful players like you. I know the three of you. The sword demon, Night Assassin, and a powerful support mage. You three already defeated the top 7... There is a huge chance we can win against them.”
“You're underestimating the top players…”
Yuki muttered.
“That’s fun! That sounds exciting! If we defeat them we’re going to become the top player. That’s so cool!”
Kaede was really cheered up hearing. Also, she's confident with her skill in the game.
“Summer cup also has real-life cash reward. It's about 1,000,000 yen in total.”
“O-One million yen?!” 3x
With one million yen Kaede, Yuki and Clover got their own fantasies on what they can do about it.
“Then, we have no other choice but to win this event.”
Kaede was thinking of buying a new mattress and bedsheets. “I can enjoy my sleep every night.”
Yuki was thinking of enjoying a vacation with only Kaede in a romantic beach resort. “We’re going to kiss and show all our body parts to each other.”
Clover is thinking of Kaede and Yuki going to her place to have a party and eating lots of food. “My parents will finally believe me in having friends.”
While the three are daydreaming with their fantasies.
Saya looks at them dumbfoundedly.
“What’s happening with them?”
