Chapter 43: Continues Assault

“Thank goodness graceful charity sure is useful in time like this. I still have 9 magic counters and lots of Mana potions on my inventory… With this, I might be able to survive all of this.”

Kaede said with her optimistic eyes. Her moving speed goes back to normal. She immediately opens her menu and takes a look at the map. Navigating her friends.

Seeing four blue dots on that map close to each other. Kaede made a gleaming smile.

“I’m glad that they are all fine… It's too bad that I’m the only one who's separated from them… There are not that far away from me.”

Kaede messages Yuki to informed her location. Yuki received the message and made a sigh of relief.

“Kaede is safe… Yosh! Let's hurry up and reunite with her.”

While everyone is on their way to see Kaede.

Kaede was targeted unknowingly from a long distance. On the mountainside. A sniper rifle is targeting her head.

“Terrifying… Destroying hundreds of players alone. She indeed deserves the title of a  demon king… But now The hero will come to defeat her! I’m sorry demon king…”

The one talking was Assault.

Confident with her targeting skill she pulled the sniper's trigger and fire a lightning speed bullet to pierce through Kaede’s head.

Cling!

“What the?!”

The bullet that supposes to pierced Kaede’s head was deflected by her sword in split seconds.

Assault was stunned and fired another one.

Kaede leaps and hides on a big boulder of rock afterward.

Kaede was surprised at what she just did earlier and chased her breath.

“What was that? My body moves on its own and deflected that bullet from afar.”

Kaede doesn’t have any idea. The reason for this is she forgets to status-check all of her skills before entering the event. She was thinking Knowledge of Evasion was triggered but it's different.

Knowledge of Evasion makes the user dodge not intercept.

This might be an entirely different skill that she has that she didn’t even know about.

“What is this? Feels like my account has a great bug on it…”

Kaede saw her status and saw skills that she is very unfamiliar with.

Not only that another skill appeared on her sword skill set.

“What is with all these skills?! I do feel happy but this is too much for me. Also, my level has risen to level 98 already. Does that means that defeating players in this event was rewarded with experience?”

Kaede just noticed.

She indeed defeated a hundred plus high-level players including the top 2 players in the whole game. Resulting in her gaining a massive amount of Experience. As she levels up she gains many status points and all of her skills are evolving.

“Defensive swing? Maybe that was the skill that just saved me from that speeding bullet… I’m level 98! I level up! I’m so busy I didn’t notice the notification at all.”

Kaede cheerfully celebrated by herself.

But the bullet continuously showered her hiding spot. The bullets started to break the giant boulder of rock she’s using as a shield.

“This is bad I need to do something… I know… Smokescreen!”

Kaede released thick black smoke to cover her location and she flees. The opponent was so far she didn’t know where she was. She focused on herself and became cautious about her next move. Kaede decided to run toward the forest area and climb the tree to further examine her new skill set.

“That girl escaped… Damn it… But I’m impressed that she manages to survived one of my most lethal attacks.”

“Boss! From behind!”

Blake shouted.

“Huh?!”

Assault was assaulted from behind.

 The two little ones were already on their way to Assault. With an Assault rifle in her hand, she fires bullets toward her body.

Assault HP turned red immediately and she goes on the cover.

“What are you all doing?! I’m paying you an incredible amount of money, but the job you’re making is definitely s**t!”

“Who are you talking to? I already bombed them all. All of your teammates are already dead Assault.”

Speaking from a radio device. Himari with a  smug look on her face.

Assault was irritated and randomly fires her gun everywhere.

“Die! I’m the one who's going to win! I’m the one who's going to win! I’m the winner! All of you deserve to die! Die! Die! Die!”

Flash grenade exploded blinding Assault.

While stunned. A gun was pointed right through her forehead.

“We’re taking the 1,000,000 prizes…”

“Who are you?!”

A gunshot was heard blasting Assault's head.

“That was brutal Yua.”

“Eh? I think it's not… I didn’t torture her. It's just a second of pain in real life.”
