Chapter 42: Demon king Kaede

Surrounded by countless opponents from above. Kaede fell into Kobato’s trap. With a smug face, Kobato looks down on Kaede.
There is no way out. If I wanted to live, I have to fight these many players. I think they are over a hundred players around me. Most of them are long-range players and a half was a melee. I need to become extra cautious on my move or else I’m really going to die here. Kaede thought. And took two swords on her inventory.
On her right was the moon-piercing sword and on her left was the royal white sword. She made a sword stance. Putting Royal white sword in front of her for defense and her moon piercing sword for the offense.
Thanks to Clover's support boost she can still move faster than she normally does.
“Biscuit please help me! Familiar release!”
From her inventory Biscuit was released and glares at the enemies standing from above.
“A familiar? What is she planning to do?”
Because of her fire type familiar. Kaede gains a magical attribute bonus skill. Since Biscuit was a fire attribute. Kaede gains access to fire skills. Combined with her sword she got a new skill to use.
“We can’t underestimate the demon king! Everyone showers her with magic attacks!”
Followed with Kobato’s command the players launched their attack on Kaede. Different types of magic flies down the giant pit hole. Creating destruction on the ground.
While the pit hole was covered with thick dust.
An energy wave made of fire shoots out from the dust cutting a player entirely in half. From its head to his bottom.
As the dust thin out and disappeared. Kobato finds out that Kaede survives the large-scale attack because of her familiar who created a barrier shield to protect her.
“Protection? That’s a very common skill. How could I not notice it.”
Kobato was upset with herself and throw a tantrum. Sena pulled her sword and blocked the upcoming fire energy wave that targeted Kobato.
“Sena…”
“There is no time blaming yourself my lady… This is the demon king in front of us. You need to pull yourself together.”
Kobato took her glance on her shaking palms. After gazing, she slaps her cheeks to wake herself up.
“You’re right, We can afford to lose time here.”
Kaede released poisonous smog from her moon piercer and it spreads immediately and gushes out of the pit hole.
“Supporters! Use Guardian veil to protect players from poison and paralysis.”
Kobato knows that Kaede had a signature skill combo that consists of her paralyzing roar and poison smog.
“Guardian Ve…”
“Guaahhh!”
“Ahhhh!”
Before the support player was able to finish chanting the skill. Kaede manages to cut some of them off with her long-range attack.
Kaede hastily runs on the wall and slams her swords. The impact to make made a trembling motion on the ground leading everyone to fall to the ground. Including Kobato and Sena.
“Let’s just seal her off inside this pit hole. Earth magic!”
Kobato and the other mage players cast magic to seal off the pit hole attempting to defeat Kaede with loss of breath. Still, it was not enough to defeat the one titled the demon king.
With a swing of her sword. The ground splits and crumbles apart.
Kobato and Sena are now having nightmares seeing how much destruction Kaede can do in one army.
“I-Is this really allowed?! This is cheating already.”
Kobato retorted while seeing her troops getting killed one by one by a single player.
“Sword fire!”
“Ahhhhhhhhh!!”
Kaede swings her sword and cuts down multiple players at once.
“The demon king is already on the surface!”
“Charge! Attack her head on! There is no way she can one-hit everyone here…”
That’s what Kobato thought. That is because Kobato has no idea how high Kaede’s STR was.
“Sword s***h!”
Kaede moves her body in full rotation in order to cut everyone around her. After that, the other player coming on her head was getting feed by her bizarre eater. Her moon piercer transforms into a head of a dragon and munch down the players. Converting them into Kaede’s Magical counter that can be used later for Kaede’s magical consumption.
“Biscuit cover me…”
Biscuit used her skill protection and cover Kaede.
Kaede immediately grabs a Mana potion on her inventory to replenished her Mana.
Before the event started, Kaede buys tons of them just in case she runs out of Mana in the battle. She knows that she doesn’t have much MP on her body because of her 0 INT.
Instead, she thinks of a way to make herself seem to have a lot of MP. And it's simple as stocking up MP potion on her inventory.
Kaede was thankful that Fantasy world online doesn’t have an item storage limit. Allowing Kaede to store as much as she can.

“That was insane, she is truly the demon king of this game.”
“Kaede-chan is really a cutie, but that power she’s presenting is horrifying. Just what kind of mindset she has on her mind.”
“Seems like she is a total psychopath or something.”
“Assault is your typical psycho, but this one is on another level. Her strengths were something like a game master have or maybe greater.”
Everyone spectating was astonished looking at the demon king's powers.

The battlefield was soon engulfed with flames. The chaos continuously rises on the battlefield. Kobato’s troops are slaughtered in a merciless way.
Until Kobato and Sena are the only ones left.
Kobato was shaking in fear meanwhile Sena is there to protect her from Kaede. Kaede walked slowly forward. While Kobato and Sena stay cautious and step back little by little. The tension is in the air.
“I will protect you, my lady… This is the strongest sword skill I have. Until the end, I will fight! Ultimate sword skill: Grand cross!”
Below Kaede. Ray of blinding light rises and breached Kaede’s HP.
But one attack is not enough for Kaede to lose her HP. With her sturdy body, she withstands the supposed to sure kill skill.
Sena MP goes down to 0 and she was still not able to defeat Kaede.
“What a monster?”
“She withstands a skill that supposes to kill anyone when successfully chanted.”
Kaede raised her royal white sword up to the sky and swings it downward.
“Repulse!”
The damage Kaede should be taken was brought back to its center directly killing Sena.
“Sena!”
Kobato screamed. Kobato then immediately grieved her defeat and turn her glare on Kaede. She cast her skill as fast as she could.
“Magic prison.”
Kaede was a cage, but on one swing of Kaede’s she broke it apart.
“Graceful charity.”
“Graceful charity? What is that skill?”
Kaede’s body was enveloped with green light particles. By sacrificing her Magical counters gained by bizarre eater. She replenished her HP back to its maximum state.
“... A healing skill… an offense skill and defense skill… This is cheating already! It's no fair! This must be a cheat. I will make Daddy buy the game company and destroy it once and for all. This game is so unbalanced! Unbalance! The developers suck!”
“Eh? This is unsightly… Throwing tantrum… Just how old are you?”
Kaede look with her blank face on Kobato.
“I’m 10 years old.”
“I see that’s why… I do hate spoiled brats like you. This is a lesson you must learn. Not everything in this world can be bought out by money. If you wanted something you must work hard on it!”
Kaede yelled in front of Kobato.
Kobato was then slashed down by Kaede’s sword.

Waking up in real-world Kobato has tears in her eyes. She put down her headgear and lace it down on the table next to her. She woke up around her big wide room. Turning her gaze beside her.
Sena is already waiting for her. Welcoming her with a smile.
“Good morning my lady.”
“S-Sena… I lost to her!”
“Well, she deserves it. She pulled her effort to became that strong.”
“But I also put lots of money and effort into recruiting players.”
“This and that are different thins you know. At least now you finally felt the feeling of defeat. What does it feel to you, my lady?”
“It hurts… I feel frustrated and I wanted to cry. But also, I wanted to stand up and not give up. From now on I will do my best not by using money. I wanted to do my best from square one.”
Kobato leaps and hugs Sena. She then hides her crying face on Sena’s chest. Sena smiled and gently pat her head.
“My lady is all grown up, but she is still my baby.”
