Chapter 79: Summer cup semi finals (Part 2)

Running outside from the cinema area on the 4th floor. Ronie and Saya wanted to move to Kaede’s location to help her out. Ronie can easily go and used her cover move to protect Kaede from the shower of bullets. But it this tactic was refused by Kaede herself.
“Are you sure you don’t want to have Ronie’s help?”
Asked Saya using team voice chat.
“Yup, I’m fine, I already have an idea on escaping and dealing damage to Assault… Ronie can share stealth skills with you. To have a better sniping position.
“If it's Kaede who said it… I guess I have no choice... Stay safe.”
With that said, Say and Ronie move to the upper floor, 5th floor. The mall area was spacious like they expected. There is a possibility of opponent players are lurking around in different stores inside. In other words, there is no real safe place to hide.
Ronie placed her hand on Saya’s back and activated her stealth skill. Their body becomes invisible for 5 minutes. While on that Saya pulled a heavy arrow from her quiver. Heavy arrow was a type of arrow that can deal high critical damage when it hits an opponent player or monsters. The heavy arrow also contains piercing damage. It can break through shields and armor.
On her mind, she wanted to deal, a one-hit critical on her opponent.

“What’s the difference between Phantom skill and Stealth skill. They both made their respective users invisible right?”
Asked Melida with confusion. Currently, she is with Elise in the restaurant called elf house watching the stream of the Summer cup semi-finals.
“One extreme sundae deluxe serving.”
The elf waitress puts a bowl containing a mountain of ice cream in front of Melida. Melida's eyes glimmer and her mouth drool as she looks at it. Elise looks at her and takes a sip of her tea.
“Can you finish that?”
“Girls always have room for sweets.”

“Stealth skill made the user invisible for 5 minutes. In addition to its effects, The user can touch an ally and share invisibility with her. Just like what Ronie doing to Saya right now.”
“I see… I see…”
“On the other hand, Phantom skill Yuki using right now don’t have a time limit. It gradually eats Mp while she uses invisibility. It also has the special effect of making the user move 20% faster. Just like Stealth, the effect will be broken when they are hit by an attack or attacked.”
Explained Elise.

While Saya and Ronie are waiting for their opponent to appear.
Unexpectedly, Yua and HImari were running past behind them. Yua and Himari didn’t notice them because of their stealth skill.
This encounter put heavy pressure on Saya and Ronie. Two girls both heavily equipped with their Military armor passed by. Himari has a rocket launcher in her hands and Yua has a mini machine gun rifle, P90.
Just like Budworm, Stealth also concealed the presence of players. Yua’s detection skills didn’t catch them out.
Saya then took her risk. If she attacks, the stealth will be broken. If her attack blasted Yua or Himari’s head. They will gain points from it. But the second player will make its move and surely assault them.
In this situation, the most powerful player was supposed to be taken down first.
According to their planning. She find out that Yua was more capable when it comes to killing. Meanwhile, Himari always comes as her support player.
Support players are easily dealt with when the player their support is gone.
Therefore, Saya turned her body and sniped Yua’s head.
“Heavy shot!”
Saya fire her arrow at Yua. Saya was confident for it to hit.
“?!”
Yua's body immediately turned sideways and avoided the arrow completely. Saya’s attempt failed together with their stealth being broken. Stealth can’t be used for 3 minutes because of the cooldown period. They are both placed in a dangerous situation.
“What the? That arrow was supposed to hit her clean.”
Saya was stunned because. Her sniping was very accurate and she always practice in the hunting ground. She can even hit small flying birds flying in the sky using her arrows.
“Its Knowledge of evasion like Master has.”
Ronie muttered.
“The percentage of that skill activating is too low in the latest update. I guess, this girl has some devilish luck with her.”
Yua and Himari turned their body to Saya and Ronie. They both fire their weapons. Bullets from Yua and a rocket from Himari.
“Defense curl!”
Ronie moves her body forward. She pulled Saya from behind, forcibly placing her behind her back. The Bullet was easy to block using Ronie’s shield. But the rocket that was approaching was a different story.
The rocket contacted the shield and made an explosion. The strength from it made Ronie and Saya knockback from the place their standing. They lost their footing and rolled on the ground.
“You’re not getting away!”
Yua said and move her feet fast. Running with her gun she assaulted Ronie and Saya. Saya and Ronie took damage from the bullet shower.
“Crap…”
Saya pulled a custom arrow she have in her quiver and fire it to the ceiling on the 8th floor. The arrow has a wire attached to it. The wire was inspired by Fuyuno’s wire skill. It was strong enough to pull their body upward. Saya took Ronie and pulled the wire. Resulting in them escaping Yua’s bullets.
“That was a close call…I’m sorry, I missed my arrow.”
“No way that’s true. It was her skill that made you miss her. Your arrow is accurate in this world and the real world. You’re the best archer in archery school.”
“You know my club?”
“Well, we’re attending the same school…”
“That makes sense.”
“In school, you barely talked to me so it made me sad a little bit. But I guess someone as amazing as Saya doesn’t have time to talk to someone like me. That’s why I’m really happy when I met you in this game. Because in this game at least I can make a conversation.”
Ronie said like she was joking and scratch her cheeks using her index finger.
“...”
Saya felt bad a little bit because. Ronie was known for being shy and awkward. Everyone doesn’t pay much attention to her. She was like an invisible figure in the school. In contrast, Saya was different. She is an amazing archer and many people respect her.
Her not talking to Saya is something she always hesitated about while in school.
She doesn’t want to hurt Ronie for ignoring her, but at the same time, her body always hesitated on approaching her. Maybe it's the difference between the two of them. Like a popular girl talking to a super boring girl in school is not good at all. Is it reputation, social status, or maybe something else?
Saya won’t say she’s a good friend at all.
But hearing Ronie’s honest feeling. It moves her heart.
“I’m sorry.”
“No… No one is too blamed here… As Master said, let's both do our best. No blaming! Keep fighting!… I mean, keep enjoying!”
Ronie is very optimistic about the battle. Kaede’s energy influenced her in a positive light.
“Ahahahaha… Your awkwardness is quite funny… Thank you for treating me well. After this let's talk a lot of things…”
Saya was being genuine but her emotions is nowhere to reach Ronie yet.
Focusing on the game is their priority first.
Saya immediately activated a healing skill to recover the HP they lost in Yua’s assault. She learned this skill after learning that the summer cup forbids using items from the storage. They do have a support player, Clover. But there are times where Clover is nowhere to be found. Learning one healing skill will not hurt.
For the moment, Saya and Ronie made their escape from Yua.
Meanwhile, on the 3rd floor, the central area, Assault continuously showered the thick smoke with bullets hoping that her bullets will kill her.
“This is getting weird I’ve been firing bullets non-stop but I’m not hitting anything…”
Assault muttered.
“Sword fire!”
A skill chant echoed from beneath. It alarmed Assault to the point that she jumps up in the air without knowing the skilled source.
The floor where she was positioned before cracks and got destroyed by a flying fire blade.
“... She’s destructive like everyone said… Kinda, remind me of the runt on my team… Still, surprise… I don’t dislike it.”
Assault body felt a surge of extreme ecstasy as she look toward Kaede’s committed expression.
