Chapter 24: Burning hot battlefield

The option of running away from the top player is not crossing their minds.
Even if they manage to run away. Yuki and Kade will definitely feel bad they let the top player get away from them.
Instead of thinking of this scenario as dangerous. Kaede’s party decided to take all the risks. If someone really wanted to win. Someone needs to take the risk.
“Yuki I can only use defence buster five more four more times.”
“I see, it have its limitations too. We need to pull our courage and fight.”
Kaede and Yuki made the first move and charge in both great shield users instead of Amber. Amber immediately noticed Kaede and Yuki strategy of taking out her shields and support first.
Amber released flames from her palm and knocks back Kaede and Yuki before they both reach the great shield user.
“Flame arrow!”
FIve flaming arrows were fired at Yuki. Yuki leaps and dodges the arrows immediately. Yuki then gets dirt from the ground and splash with Nell.
While Nell was distracted. Yuki uses her high speed to get closer to Amber back.
Amber fires another fire skill to intercept Yuki. While Yuki and Amber are busy fighting each other. Kaede steps forward with her moon piercer and destroys Melie’s second shield.
“Defence buster!”
“I won’t let you get any closer! Frozen spear!”
Melie chants a magic skill. From her hand water particles formed and freeze. Creating a spear of ice. The Ice was then thrown to Kaede. Kaede automatically dodges the spear with her knowledge of evasion.
Surprised by Kaede’s unexpected movements. Melie was stunned. Kaede got even closer to her with a serious face.
Rising her sword she swings it to Melie.
“Sword s***h!”
The attack blast Melie to Nell position.
Melie and Nell are both high-level great shield-user. They both have high VIT making their HP larger than normal players. That’s the reason why they survive high damage attacks from Kaede’s skill.
But after a few more attacks their HP will definitely go down to zero.
“We can’t lose we promised each other that we will win this event.”
“We will win and celebrate in our school club!”
Nell and Melie got fired up. Melie has no spare shield anymore on her inventory and puts distance. Instead, she cast support skills to Nell and Amber.
Anber skill got more dangerous with “Magic amplifier skill” same with Nell.
“Shield Attack!”
Nell thrust her shield to Kaede. Kade intercepted it with her sword.
“Defence buster!”
The shield was destroyed immediately after it collided with Kaede’s sword. Nell is fearless and hurried herself to open her inventory to get her second shield.
On Nell’s hand was a big violet shield with a skull-like design on it. She pushes her shield and crushed it toward Kaede’s body.
“Curse shield thrust!”
The skill doesn’t deal damage, but instead, it results in de-buff effects.
Kaede felt it immediately.
“My body is heavy. Feels like the gravity is pulling me down.”
“Amber!”
Nell called Amber’s name.
Their bodies glow in white light. Their position was switched instantly.
“Switch!”
Switch is a skill that switches the position of the player. This skill can only be used with party members. The skill has a 30-second cooldown.
Kaede was surprised at who she saw in front of her. Amber channels flame on her fist and strike Kaede’s stomach.
“Flaming punch!”
Being hit directly from her stomach Kaede flew and got slammed to the nearby boulder. The attack made reduces Kaede's HP into 1. In one another strike, she already done.
Amber followed her flaming punch with another skill.
“Fire arrows!”
Accompanied by her chant fire flame arrows was fly to Kaede. Kaede manages to avoid the arrows and then dive to the near river.
“Diving on water? Nice move Kaede. Most of the fire skill is dissolving underwater.”
Yuki commended Kaede’s decision. After a second of thought, Yuki got troubled.
Yuki knows that Kaede doesn’t have the ability to swim. After diving in the water she will definitely drown after her oxygen level reduces to 0.
Kaede is currently struggling and then sink slowly with her hand reaching to the sky.
“Kaede!”
Yuki shouted.
Clover meanwhile did her best to rescue Kaede. She swims and caught Kaede to the opposite side of the river. Yuki turned her glance to Clover saving Kaede and made a sign of relief.
The great shield user Nell attack her with her curse shield aggressively. Nell might have a level higher than Yuki, but Yuki's speed is greater. No matter how many trusts and attacks Nell did it just won't make a strike.
“You're so agile!”
“Nell you body?!”

Melie warned Nell. Nell turns her eyes on her body and saw multiple cuts all over her body. Her HP was also near the red zone. Melie immediately cast support skills to replenish Melie’s HP back to its maximum state.
“I understand how you're attacking me while dodging. That quite sneaky way to attack.”
“Don’t call my attack sneaky. That’s what professional gamer called strategy.”
Yuki kicks the ground and pretends that she’s about to attack Nell. But instead. She immediately turned her body and used “Extreme speed”. She made contact with Melie who continuously casting Nell and Amber support skills from behind.

Melie's body stiffed. Yuki strikes her down.
“Cross blades!”
Yuki successfully defeats Melie from behind.
Amber and Nell turn their attention to Yuki instead of Kaede whose currently at a far distance. While in long distance. Kaede replenished her HP with some restoration pie she brought before the event started.
“You're going to pay for defeating Melie!”
Amber then launches fireballs from her palm targeting Yuki. Yuki dodges and runs through the stone boulder. She leaps high up in the sky and cast elemental magic striking Amber and Nell from below.
“Illusion!”
Using illusion Yuki created ten clones of herself and then dive to Amber and Nell from the sky.
“Flame spiral!”
The flames burned five of Yuki's clones and then reaching the ground Nell do her best to search for Yuki.
“Where is she?!”
From behind Yuki targeted Nell’s nape and cuts through Nell's head.
The undeniably critical strike was made. Without her head on the body. Nell’s HP bar reduce completely to nothingness and got defeated.
“Nell… Melie… I promised to resurrect both of you after I defeat these three.”
Yuki with her own fighting stance look seriously to Amber.
At that moment, Amber finally remembers Yuki from before. Remembering Yuki from the other games she played before. Amber was stunned.
“That makes sense now… That’s why I’m wondering why those movements look familiar… You finally come to play this game.”
“What kind of nonsense are you sprouting?”
“Playing dumb will never gonna save you here.”
Flames enveloped Ambers body. She turned her eyes to Yuki with bloodshot eyes.
“... You’ll definitely go to die right now.”
Without noticing the whole ground started to glow up with red light. On the ground, a huge magic circle was made. The ground was also making Yuki’s movent two times slower than before.
“Slow effect? From a skill?”
“Crimson Eruption!”
From the ground, flames exploded like magma. The intense heat burned Yuki’s HP. Yuki screamed in pain receiving the area skill cast on her.
After the skill, Yuki’s body was burned down and fell to the ground. Kaede and Clover have grim looks on their face. After seeing how Yuki’s body got burned down to a charcoal-like state.
“Yuki…”
“This can’t be…”
Amber accelerated her movement with flames. Moving to Kaede’s and Clover location. Amber grabs Clovers face and then released flames from her palm.
Burning Clover she then slams her down to the ground.
In Kaede’s vision, both of her teammates was considered dead. With their HP all zero Amber and Kaede was the last to stand on the battlefield.
It makes Kaede will frighten for a second, but after realizing how much Yuki wanted to win the vent. Kaede can’t just turn her back because her opponent was a Top player.
“Sword demon this will be your end.”
“That’s not for you to decide. I won't let Yuki and Clover's death be in vain.”
Kaede’s support buff wore off. And she can’t move fast. She faces Amber holding her sword in front of her with fearless eyes.
“It's quite entertaining, but your skills are not that powerful enough. I just join this event to give a newcomer like you a lesson. For you to know, who you should fight in the future... As my last parting gift, I’m going to strike you down with my strongest skill.”
Sweat slide to Kaede’s cheeks and she remained the focus.
“Hellfire demon fist!”
Amber charged to Kaede and swing her flaming fist.
Kaede’s body moves on its own and ducks down to the ground. Even she was confused about why it happened. First, she thought it was to evade Amber’s attack via Knowledge of Evasion.
But it was not an Amber skill that made the skill triggered. From a far distance in where Kaede and Amber were battling. The sniper player fires a lightning bullet.
Kaede’s body move and dodge the bullet. By dodging the bullet. The high-speed bullet strikes Amber arms ripping them apart.
Amber was shocked by the bullet fired at her in a long distance.
The sniper player immediately reloaded her sniper.
“I missed her head again… The sword demon truly has the luck of the devil itself.”
While stunned Kaede lifted her body and swings her sword upwards. The moon pierced blade rip-off Amber left arm.
Without and arms to use. Amber was unable to cast most of her skills. Also, her mind was in a panic at the sudden turn of events.
Kaede swings her sword as fast as she could.
Each strikes deals 2500 to 5000 attack damage on Amber’s HP. Ambers Hp was in 102,200 and her level was over hundreds.
Now a below level 30 player is about to defeat her.
Lastly, Kaede focuses on all her strengths and then used her skill.
“Sword s***h!”
The skill made critical damage blasting Amber’s body to the wall of rock. Amber’s eyes rolled upward and she lost consciousness. She then fells down and before disappeared on the battlefield. She muttered.
“I see, the reason why the game developers have their focus on you… Your sword is bending the game system…”
