“Shun! Time to get the catch.”
“I’m going to get it all ready.”
“Are you fine by yourself? Do you need help?”
“I’m fine… Mister should take a rest now. Mister is already working since morning. Leave this work to me.”
“If you said that then you have my appreciation… My back hurt these following days. I don’t know what to do with it. Herbs from apothecary are not working well… I’ll have you some meal when you come back.”
Said the old mister and turned his back to his house. The black-haired boy walked toward the river bank to get today’s catch.
While he is walking people look down on him and look at him with funny eyes.
“Look at him… It's him again so dirty.”
“Who wanted that kind of man. He doesn’t have anything appealing on him. Also, he is always so gross.”
“But his kind a cute you right.”
“Eww, you’re type is the worst. After being heartbroken you’re looking to that trash.”
“It's not like that…”
The young man just passed by and ignore the people whose saying funny things about him. He just does what he needs to do and goes straight to the river bank.
On the riverbank, there are nets already placed like traps for the fishes foolish enough to pass by. Shun picked up one net and pulled upwards. Plenty of fish rose from the water. After that, he put it in the basket.
“They should shut up already… But there’s nothing I can do about it.”
Shun made a sigh accepting the truth that he is always a subject of mockery in their town. For the reason that he's a peasant with nothing in life. No family, No friends, and No wealth. He barely living day by day with his two feet.
While on the water he pulled on the net and felt it to be heavier than it normally does. He has never seen a net full of fish before. But still, he can’t believe that the net became this heavy because of fish.
He pulled the net upward and got surprised by what he saw.
Inside the net. A beautiful-looking girl was caught. At first, Shun thought that she’s already dead and got drowned. But The girl inside the net made a coughing noise. Her eye’s opened up looking directly at him.
This is their first meeting.
