Chapter 83: Turning point

I was together with my friends eating dessert. Laughing and having a fun conversation with each other. For the longest time, I always think of myself as lonely. Me alone in my house. Doing whatever I wanted.
But now thanks to this game, everything changed. To make new friends. Clover the first time I met her. She is timid and considered herself as a weakling. Now she is talking with dignity and quite intellectual. Saya is just like a better version of Yuki overall. She is frank and genuine in many things. I heard lots of people don’t have the guts to say what they wanted to say. Ronie meanwhile, started calling me master. I still don’t know what I’m going to teach her. Well, I’m just a simple girl like her.
Yuki stays the same since we’re little children. She’s always been in my class for a very long time. I trusted her and was very fond of her.
We all visit the restaurant on the first floor. It's the same restaurant Yuki and I visited a long time ago. Six months already passed when I started playing Fantasy world online. Many things happened. Game event and surprising outcomes. Sometimes I don’t get it but became so strong for some reason. Players in the game started calling me Sword demon or Demon king.
At first, I thought its bad. As time passed by, the term sword demon became normal in my mind. Being the demon king in this game is kinda cool. That’s what I thought.
Remembering all the fun stuff that just happened. I can’t help myself to make a grin on my face.
“What are you grinning about, Kaede? Is that ice cream sundae telling some short of joke…”
Yuki teased.
“Nope… I’m just happy… Thank you everyone for giving me such wonderful memories. I’ll cherish all of our adventures forever and ever on my memories.”
Clover turned her face away in embarrassment.
“Umm… If you put it like that… I guess I have to remember everything. Kaede did help me a lot in the past.
Everyone look at me and made a smile.
“Oh… The game has a new feature on it. We can take a screenshot of this moment. We don’t have a picture with all of us together, right? This is the perfect time to have one.”
Yuki suggested.
“I wonder If I look good?”
Ronie muttered and started fixing her hair.
“Ronie is plenty cute already. Don’t worry about it.”
A small floating screen appeared in the air. Displaying Kaede and her friends together. Kaede sitting in the middle. On her left side was Saya with a peace sign and Ronie who have a timid expression on her face. Clover has a perfect smile and Yuki with a big grin.
“Kaede what are you doing? Smile.”
Look at them genuinely happy.
I made the most genuine smile I could ever make.
In the count of three. A flash of light snapped in our direction. The picture taken appeared in Yuki’s hands and was presented to all of us.
“It's such a great photo.”
“Let's print another one and put it on our guild.”
“That’s a great idea.”
A copy of the picture was given to me by Yuki and staring at it. I can't help myself but feel overjoyed.
This is my precious friend.
“Thank you, everyone…”
In a blink of an eye. Everyone went missing.
Yuki, Clover, Ronie, and Saya. The players in the restaurant and the staff working.
Confused I stood up slowly and turned my head around. I exit the restaurant and look to the park. The park is always packed with people and NPC’s. There is no way for this place to be empty.
This game won't have a day and night cycle, but now the sky was color orange. The sun was setting together with a strong blow of wind.
I felt anxious and got nervous.
“Maybe, it's just a game error… I should just log out and log in afterward.”
I pressed the menu button and scroll toward the log-out button. I pressed on it. But nothing is happening.
In one simple touch. I’m supposed to be transported back to my real world.
What’s happening?
I pressed the button again and again.
Nothing is happening.
I seated down on the core of the fountain and lifted my head. Looking up in the setting sun.
“This is just an error… Nothing bad is going to happen to me… Nothing bad is going to happen to me.”
I rub my eyes and blinked.
My eyes became itchy and the surroundings started to get blurry.
I’m using my eyes too much these past few days. My eyes are just tired.
As I rub my eyes, my vision was illuminated with light. Opening my eyes widely. I saw myself in an unknown forest. Seating under a big tree.
“Eh?”
Is this some kind of new game event?
“I should better message Yuki and the others. Maybe they are worried.”
I place my finger on the menu, but the menu was nowhere to be found. In my vision. They're supposed to be an HP and MP bar located in the upper left corner of my vision. In the bottom right corner was supposed to be the location of the menu.
It is not here… Not here.
I panicked and run around. I got tripped on the root and fell own on my on the ground.
“It hurts… My knee’s bleeding… The game won't have this feature before… This game doesn’t have a feature of player gushing blood.”
The pain I just felt was almost the same in real life.
I need to test it.
I search for a sharp-looking branch in the forest and gladly find one in no time. Stabbing myself will be fine. I pointed the branch sharp point on my left arm. I was hesitating to stab myself, because who will do such a thing.
I made a deep sigh and throw the branch away.
“Better not do it…”
If this is an event. I should just walk around and maybe. I eventually find something that will give me a clue about this event.
Unexpectedly, I tripped on the root again and fell. This time I rolled down to the ground. From the ground, I fell to the raging river.
“W-What is happening to me?!”
I cry.
My body was taken by the strong water current. Toward a place, I don’t know.
