Both players decided to take their fight in the nearby ruins. The place looks like an abandoned temple. Mosses all ready eaten the concreted structures. Many angelic statues are all around. Taking a closer look the temple looks very nice.
But the two players don’t have time to appreciate the ancient beauty of these ruins.
Both standing twenty meters away facing each other. Kaede and Amber have their equipment ready for the battle.
Kaede hold her sword and made a sword stance. She was confident enough in herself after all the battles she fought in the past.
“Flame acceleration!”
Amber chant a skill that made her movement speed up. From 20 meters away she appeared in front of Kaede. She threw a kick.
Kaede’s body evaded Amber's kick. Her knowledge of evasion was activated. Knowing this skill. Amber turned her body downward. After that, she put her palm on Kaede’s chest armor for a point-blank attack.
“Fire blast!”
Kaede has no way of dodging that skill. The flames were so powerful they made both of them flew in opposite directions. Kaede has her foot on the ground and stays focus.
The Skill dealt huge damage on Kaede but it was not enough to one hit her.
Kaede’s body glows in blue colors.
“That skill…”
“Yep, this is the skill I learned earlier. Magical absorption. This skill can cover the magical attack to MP.”
Kaede said.
“I understand now. The reason you invited me to a duel is to know how the skills work for you… But I don’t dislike it, after all, I wanted to fight Kaede all this time.”
“You’re not angry?”
“Of course not… Kaede defeated me and I have never won since then. If I defeated you right now. I will be satisfied. I take these opportunities as an honor!”
Amber told Kaede. After her defeat with Kaede, she trained herself more than she usually does. She even pulled an all-nighter to study the effect of her skills and have a better understanding of them.
Skills are the main power system of this game. But the gameplay and style are what make these skills more powerful.
The proof was Kaede herself. Despite being a low leveled rookie. She’s able to defeat Amber and other players whose levels are higher than her.
Kaede without knowing have talent in decision-making in the battle scene. She thinks she relies on her skill, but she is the one who's making the skill more useful. Kaede knows how to play her cards well in any situation.
Unlike some players who have linear swallow thinking in the problem shown to them.
Amber learns from Kaede. That’s why she won't care if Kaede wanted to use her to learn.
“I see… Then I won’t let myself lost here.”
Kaede said and charge toward Amber.
Amber was surprised that Kaede is moving at a normal speed. Kaede usually doesn’t have the speed because of her build. But normal speed has no way of winning to Amber’s enhanced speed.
“Flame acceleration.”
Amber strikes Kaede in many different close-combat strikes. She kicks Kaede’s stomach and punches her body and lastly smashed her down to the ground.
Knowledge of evasion skills was so effective in long-range attacks. But it has less effectiveness in melee attacks.
“Sword fire!”
Kaede launch an energy blade from her sword flew to Amber. Amber blocks it with her bare hands.
“How?”
“That skill is a fire-type skill. It barely affects the so-called Flame Priestess. I have fire-type immunity… If you wanted to deal more damage to me you must have a different strategy.
Kaede make a deep breath and looks straight into Ambers's eyes.
“I knew it Amber is not top seven for a show. Amber is amazing that's why she reaches that level. I’m always thinking about it in our first battle. I just got lucky and evaded that fire punch. That’s why I never think that I won in that fight. Someone interferes.”
Amber remembers it.
The reason Kaede won before is the last moment when her right arm was ripped off because of a sniper bullet.
That incident creates an opening for Kaede to attack her. Leading to her defeat. Amber remembers it vividly.
She feels happy that the player she lost into was not an arrogant player who will make fun of her.
Her respect for Kaede has gotten bigger.
Kaede put her two hands on her sword. One on the handle and one on the blade. Charging the magical energy on her body.
Kaede decides to use her trump card.
“Sword demon form!”
Her hair becomes silver white and a small black horn grows on the right of her forehead. Sword demon form made her all stats increase drastically by 500 points for a short period.
“That form? That’s the form she used before with her battle with the angel…. Flame acceleration!”
Both players move at extreme speed. Every movement and attack they made damage the ruined temple.
Breaking the concrete blocks and destroying the statues.
Amber fire skills and intercepted by Kaede’s sword.
“According to the update… Form type skill only boost the player for short moments. If I’m able to stall Kaede. It will be her loss.”
Amber knew Kaede’s weakness and started to make the distance on her instead of charging toward her. While in the distance she contentiously launches a fireball to disturb Kaede’s thinking.
These decisions made Amber think a second time. Her Fireball is used magical energy. That means its target to Kaede’s new skill magical absorption.
After realizing that fact. Kaede’s already gathered enough Mp to chant her skills.
“Smokescreen!”
The whole ruins were covered by black smoke. Covering Kaede’s presence.
“I knew smokescreen but I never seen someone used smokescreen to these degrees.”
Covering the whole area with black smoke. Amber remembered Kaede's first combo skill.
“Smog and paralyze… This is bad…”
Putting energy on her foot she jumps high up in the sky. She exits the black smokescreen that covers the whole place.
Behind Amber, Kaede appeared and swings her sword down to Amber.
“Fire protection!”
Fire shield appeared to protect Amber and directly got Kaede's sword. But Kaede’s sword was too strong it breaks through and smashed Amber down to the ground.
The falling impact made a heavy win that defogs the smokescreen and breaks the ground.
Kaede landed down on the ground.
“I won…”
Kaede muttered and lost her Sword demon form.
But Amber was still alive and smiling.
“Finally it wore off…”
Attached to Kaede’s body were chains made of flames.
Kaede just noticed it and immediately run in the distance but Amber stopped her and pulled her.
“Magical absorption can only absorb attack type. But creation type skill like fire chains is not included.”
Flaming chain warps All of Kaede’s body. The flaming chin got tighter and tighter. Kaede felt the slight pain from the chains and struggles to break free.
“Flaming chain makes the opponent immobile. The only way to overpowered these skills is by using another powerful skill that consumes higher MP. The MP I used in these flaming chains is exactly 700 MP.”
“No way… I don’t have much MP.”
Kaede was anxious after knowing that fact. Her MP maximum limit is only 90 - 120.
Kaede thinks her best to get out of the situation.
She decided to duck down and reached the chain by her head.
“What are you doing?”
Amber was puzzled? On Kaede’s current action.
Kaede bites and chows down the flaming chain by her bare teeth. Munching the chain she made Amber skeptical.
“Kaede sure has the weirdest thoughts, but it was useless… There is no way…”
Before she finished her sentence.
*Clang!* *Ching!* The chain was destroyed by Kaede’s teeth.
“What was that?! Is that even a legit game style?!”
“Thank goodness, I always brush my teeth every day.”
“I’m sure it won't have anything to do with our situation!”
Amber retorted back to Kaede.
“But that’s what my kindergarten teacher said.”
“It had nothing to do with our situation!”
Kaede has her hands on her sword again. With a distance away from Amber she knew she won’t win at her current speed. She needs to think of a strategy to win the fight.
Kaede raises her sword.
Amber step back and get herself ready for Kaede’s next move.
“Kaede style!”
“Eh? Kaede style?”
“Man-made earthquake!”
Kaede lams her sword to the ground. The impact she made with her sword made the whole ground tremble.
Amer was shocked by Kaede’s action. She lost her footing and got a little dizzy because of the shaking ground.
“Fire protection!”
A fire barrier was created to protect herself. Just in case Kaede comes to attack her.
As long as Kaede is far from me. Kaede won’t have a chance of dealing damage. Kaede’s long-range skill was fire-type. It won’t affect me at all.
“Take this!”
Kaede turned her body and put all her strength into one attack. She threw her sword like a javelin to Amber.
“She used her sword as a long-range weapon?”
She can't use her sword fire... She instead used her sword.
Amber’s body was penetrated and nailed on the thick wall behind her.
The magnitude was only made for distracting Amber on her foothold. That’s where Kaede took the opening and threw her sword.
Kaede has a different sword on her inventory. Throwing one sword away is not a bad thing for her.
Kaede pulled the royal white sword on her inventory.
“Kaede is a terrifying foe…”
All amber sees is Kaede’s terrifying aura from distance away from her. She closed her eyes and accepted defeat.
“Kaede style: Shooting sword!”
Kaede threw her second sword to Amber and destroyed her body and decreased her HP to zero.
