Chapter 26: Hunting event ended

Players checking the leaderboard were surprised by what they saw. The name of the top player team was replaced with Kaede’s team members.
There are only a few hours left before the hunting event ended. And most of the players participating in the event know that Amber will surely win the event.
But Kaede once proves that she is not an ordinary player in the game.
With their location shown in the event island map. Kaede, Yuki, and Clover have no choice but to face them and protect their number one spot until the end.
“The sword demon defeated the flame priestess. That’s an insane feat for a low-level player like her. Still, I can't say that she is cheating.”
Dark said while he is looking at the leaderboard. Behind him was player Blake. Blake was dejected and he can’t even decide if his team is going to attack Kaede’s team.
“What are we going to do, Blake?”
“It’s hard we already reach the top ten team. This will be okay for now. We don’t know what kind of skill Kaede has on her sleeves. We better stay our distance from her.”
“But if we defeated her we will gain their points.”
“That’s impossible for us. Kaede the sword demon just defeated a powerful top player the flaming priestess. Kaede’s skill directly defies the leveling system itself. Attacking her without any plan is just plain suicide.”
Dark thinks about it and agrees on Blake's decision afterward.
Kaede having the seemingly overpowered skill. Makes her looks very invisible. In the eyes of other players, she is indeed slowly becoming the true demon king of the game.
It's been three hours since they defeated Amber. Kaede's team is currently exhausted facing players who after their huge points.
Kaede and Yuki are doing their best on offense. While Clover is giving them support skills to continue on the battle.

Yuki was chasing her breath and Clover was running out of MP to use. Kaede looks at her teammates and finishes the players surrounding them.
Kaede changes her sword to a moon piercer. She used Lightning roar to spread sparks of lightning in the surrounding area. Leading the players to paralyze the state.
While they are all immobilized. Kaede used her poison smog. The violet poisonous gas then killed them.
After defeating multiple players, Kaede falls on her knees in exhaustion. Her SP is running low and if this continues. Her HP will be reduced little by little.
“Are you okay Kaede?”
“Yup… I just need a little rest to replenish some of my SP and I’m back standing again. More importantly, there are still 12 hours before the event ended we need to endure until that time comes.”
Yuki bows her that to Kaede and apologized.
“I’m sorry, this is because of my selfishness… I wanted to win this event and I'm pushing you to your limits.”
“What? I’m indeed helping you, but I also wanted to win this event. That’s why I’m doing my best… Stop saying something like that it's out of your character. Yuki is the greatest player in the world! Go! Go! Yuki! That’s the kind of girl you are right?”

Clover then suggested something to Kaede and Yuki.
“I think we should go hide for 12 hours. It's better than fighting players left and right…”
“Our location was revealed in the map. There’s no place to hide.”
Kaede tilted her head and come to understand what Clover is talking about.
“I think there is a place to hind in this event.”
Clover nodded her head up and down with a smile.
“I almost forgot about it, but only one team can enter a dungeon boss room. Inside that room, we can hide for 12 hours.”
“Are you insane? That’s still a dungeon boss room. There a huge possibility that we’re doom hiding inside that place.”
Clover opens her menu and shows Yuki the map and location of the nearby dungeon boss. Clover then pointed out her finger to a specific dungeon in the map located in the forest area.
Double tapping it the dungeon boss's name was shown on the screen.
“Sleeping, Sloth king? It has a great HP and STR… Wait, it will never attack the player until it wakes up?”
“I saw this monster online before. This monster will only attack players if it was attacked.”
“... That means if we didn’t attack this monster for 12 hours straight we’re automatically going to win the event.”
Three girls made a big smile on their faces.
With such a brilliant idea. The three girls head immediately to the said dungeon.
Arriving in the forest area, They go to the huge tree with a cave underneath.
The entrance to the Sloth king dungeon was the cave. As they walked deep on it they then reach a giant door. Which Kaede opened for the three of them.
They all enter the door and reach a huge room. It is dark and has looked like a deep forest inside it. Fireflies flew in the air giving light to the surroundings.
And in front of them was the “Sleeping Sloth king”. The face of the Sloth king was in bliss and a huge bubble was blowing on its nose.
Looking at the sloth king's funny sleeping face. The three girls giggled and covered their mouths.
Because the three girls entered a boss room. Their location was erased on the map. Players were confused about what just happened. Especially the players whose chasing Kaede’s head.

The three girls made their selves comfortable and lay down on the thick moss. Looking up in the ceiling all they saw was the pretty glitter of the fireflies flying around the boss room.
With such pretty scenery. The three girls were amazed.
Their eyelids started to fall slowly and slowly. They then all fell asleep with a smile on their face.
Time has passed and without the three girls knowing the event ended.
Instead of waking up in the same thick moss where they last lay down. Kaede opened her eyes and find herself back in her room. She takes off her game hardware and rubs her eyes.
She was still confused and half asleep. She turned her head on the window and saw how dark it was.
“It's still so early…”
On the clock, it's saying 3:00 AM. Kaede still has school to attend. She slams her body down and pulls her blanket up.

The hunting event ended and the message and gift were sent to the winner of the event. Because Kaede is being sleepy head she had no time looking at it.
The Kaede’s team reaming on top of the leader board with the 32,540 points gained. Kaede was considered MVP and get a special prize to send only to her.
The players that got to the top 100 teams left were given a consolation prize for participating in the event.

“Ring! Ring! Ring!” Kaede’s smartphone alarm went off waking her up early in the morning. She wanted to lay her body on the bed, but she knows that she can’t do it.
Yawing she stretches her body and immediately fixes her bed. She goes to the kitchen and prepared for her going to school.
Its seems very hard but Kaede was used in taking care of herself because her parent was already gone. She wears her uniform and tied her hair.
She checks on her looks in the mirror and fixed her hair.
“Cutely… Cute…”
She said and then leave her house and walked to school.
While she is walking the familiar girl surprised her and from the back.
“Kaede! Kaede~! My cute pretty Kaede!”
“Stop flattering me, Yuki. It's very unusual of you to appear in this street. We leave in a different direction from the school.”
“Well, I just can’t sleep…”
Kaede turned her glance on Yuki’s eyes that has a rather huge shade of darkness underneath.
“Yeah, I can see it in your eyes.”
“After the event, the developers send gifts to us including the message congratulating us. I have a new unique series armor set and million of gold… Considering you as the MVP I guess, you got better gifts than me. I wonder what Clover got…”
“I didn’t log in after the event. I didn’t know what I got. More importantly, the midterms are coming. Is it really alright for us to play games every night? I’m starting to get worried.”
“Don’t worry about it Kaede… I’ll take care of you even you became a NEET.”
“I don’t want to be a NEET! But staying at home and lazing around the whole day is quite nice… I can just play the game all day.”
Kaede said with a weird smile on her face.

The two girls then walked to school together. Sitting in the same seat from the back of the class. They then face a challenge much powerful than the monsters they face in the game.
“Today we're having a surprise exam!”

The whole class was disappointed with their teacher's announcement.
Kaede and Yuki were stiffed like stone. And when the test paper reached their desk. All they can do is stare at it with a face saying “Yeah, I’m an i***t, I can’t understand anything written on this paper.”
They both get their pen from their case and just answer it. Well, they can't run away from it.

After the test.
“Are you two an i***t?! Kishimoto! Honjou!”
Their teacher's voice was heard in the hallway.
Kaede and Yuki were trembling and looking downward.
“I whole class only the two of you got below 10 points. This is unexpected Kishimoto… I thought you progressing. Same with you Honjo! The two of us will go to the library and study. Tomorrow both of you are going to have a retake!”
Receiving the yell of their Teacher. Kaede and Yuki were dejected going out from the faculty room. They make a sigh of relief and look at each other. They both grin briefly and just walked into the hallway.
“I guess we can’t go home,e and play tonight.”
“Yeah…”
Let what they both instructed. The two girls to go the library to study. Kaede gets the books to study. Meanwhile, Yuki gets a fine book to use as a pillow.
They then seat down at the table beside each other and in front of them was an unexpected person.
Amber with Nell and Melie seating opposite Kaede and Yuki.
“?!”
“W-Were attending the same school?!”
Amber shouted in surprise.
