Chapter 64: Summer cup first round (Part 4)

In the very last moment of Elise. She manage to grab Kaede’s blade and cast a skill right in front of her in point-blank range. From her hand, lightly traveled in a straight line to Kaede’s chest. Piercing her chest armor and by force, Kaede has pushed away in 20-meter distance from Melida and Elise.
Elise Hp drops down to zero and her body is illuminated in light. With the effect of broken glass, her body disappeared in light. After Elise's defeat, Kaede’s team gain another point leading to a tie.
Elise opened her eyes and saw herself back in the waiting room with the other defeated teammates. She looks back to the battle and is amazed at how Kaede manages to survive a direct attack from her.
In the other waiting room, Yuki solved the puzzled in how Kaede manages to survive the attack earlier. The answer to that was simple. Kaede has the skill called Sturdy body.
Sturdy body skill (Passive) causing the Player to have 1 HP remaining if another Player/monster attack or magic/effect damage would have brought it from full health to 0 HP. Sturdy body skill will activate as long as a Player has full HP before the attack, and therefore it can activate multiple times if the Player is brought back to full health, or if the Player has a maximum of 1 HP.
Remembering the happening in Hunting event. Kaede used the very same skill to defend themself from a monster that was designed to be indestructible. Yuki grinned and noticed the next move Kaede will do.
Kaede after being forced back in the far distance was caught by Biscuit and charge to Melida in full throttle.
“Repulse!”
Kaede shouted as she s***h her sword to Melida’s shield. Repulse doubled the power of the last damage taken. Therefore, the damage Elise made to Kaede will be inflicted on Melida in double.
Melida after taking the strong s***h. Was knocked back from the place she’s standing. Her foot carved the ground. Even though that combo was a success. Melida wasn’t defeated. Her outstanding HP and vitality are not only for show.
Kaede rides back to Biscuit and steadily activated her meditation skill to regain HP.
While Kaede is replenishing her HP. Melida was muttering in the far distance and lastly, she activated her skill.
“--- White fortress.”
Her White armor transformed. On her back rocket launchers and laser gun manifested and her full body was covered in white full metal mecha armor.
Her form gives awe to all spectators. In how cool looking the White fortress Mecha form was.
Melida sets her trajectory to Kaede. She charge up all her weapons and blasted up into the sky.
“White fortress punishment!”
The battlefield darken the moment Melida launched her brilliant lasers and rockets. The lasers and rockets are all set in Kaede’s direction. Biscuit used protection to protect themselves, But it wasn’t enough to block the chaos of Melida’s skill.
The barrier was dented and destroyed. After few seconds, it crashed and hits Biscuit. Biscuit protected Kaede in the battle and its Hp turns back to zero. Biscuit's body turned into light and back to the spirit world.
Thanks to Biscuits' sacrifice Kaede was able to survive the destruction. Kaede won’t waste any time. Her face gotten serious.
Kaede silently closed her eyes.
“Sword demon!”
Speeding up to the sky. Kaede attacks Melida. She swings her sword multiple times and got intercepted by Melida’s shield. Shrill sound echoed as they both fight in the mid-air. The intensity of each attack manifested from the two girls made the battlefield crumble.
“Sword s***h!”
“Shield attack!”
The strength of their attack was par with each other. The fierce battle of the two girls made the spectators speechless. Yuki and Elise just smiled looking at them fight each other.
“Weirdly, these battles might not end.”
While Kaede and Melida fight they started to forget that this is a tournament. They both enjoyed casting skills and attacking in their creative ways.
Kaede’s Hp goes to 1 and the same with Melida.
In one last hit, Both girls will perished on the battlefield. Both have less MP not enough to cast another Skill. Thye did what they can do and just charge on to each other. They both have fixed eyes on each other and made their final attack.
Melida attacks with her Shield thrusting forward.
Kaede slashed the opponent in front of her.
Their weapon collided with each other. Creating sparks and intense sound. They pushed each other to their limits.
Finally, one of them loses.
Melida’s shield cracks after losing its durability. After taking lots of Kaede’s attacks the shield durability decreased leading for it to broke. The moment her shield roke. The blade of Kaede’s sword reached Melida’s chest and breakthrough.
“I lost…”
“...”
Instead of feeling negative about her loss. Melida just smiled as her character body faded away on the battlefield.
After Kaede gains another point or the winning point. Fireworks were set on fire launching up in the sky. A sign to celebrate their win.

“Winning the extremely fierce battle, Demon king guild win the first round of Summer Cup! The first team to advance in the next stage… The fight is so close, it still giving me goosebumps.”
Player Kaede was astonished and cat believe what just happened. The happening was so fast she lost track of it. All she saw was the fireworks and the message saying [Congratilations!] place in midair.
Kaede’s let her body fell to the ground because of exhaustion. She spread her arms as she look up into the sky. She smiled happily and said.
“I win… I win…”
Her body was enveloped by light and she teleport back to the waiting room. When she appeared. All her teammates attack her with hugs and anticipation. Yuki cries as she hugs Kaede.
“Stop it!”
“I’m sorry I’m so worthless earlier.”
“Don’t say that, you made significant damage to Elise. That’s why I’m able to strike her down. The same happened to Amber. Everyone worked hard to win. Melida's team sure is strong. I think it's a mere fluke that I win.”
Despite being in a center of the stage. Kaede remained down to earth and humble. Ronie looking at her respected her more. Same with her other teammates.
“Expected from, Master!”
After the battle ended. Both teams face each other for a handshake.
Yuki comes face to face with Elise once again and shakes hands.
“I will do your advice… Next time I’ll win.”
Yuki said to Elise.
“Getting matured… Kaede’s mindset is infectious I see… Next time let's have a duel. Just the two of us.”
“Yeah.”
Amber look at Kaede and said.
“Weird as ever… I really can’t predict your move. That’s why I lost. Do your best and win this tournament for us.”
“Of course, we will.”
“My idol sure win this time. I’m not wrong for looking at Kaede. Someday I’ll become stronger than you and then we’re both be popular idols in this game.”
Melida said with glimmering eyes. She held Kaede’s hands and pushed her face closer and closer to hers.
“... I’m not interested in being an idol…”
Elise get Melida’s ears and pulled her back on behind.
“Kaede is so cute, it's a waste not being popular!”
Melida shouted.
“Just don’t mind her… She is a bit weird sometimes. Do your best, as someone who defeated us. You take responsibility for winning the tournament.”
“We’ll be cheering for Kaede!”
“Nell will also cheer for Kaede.”
Kaede doesn’t mind about her talk after that and handshake Elise, Nell, and Mellie.
“Hello, Kaede is not the only member of our guild. We’re also here.”
Saya muttered as she look while everyone is happily shaking Kaede’s hands.

The battlefield chosen was a castle battlefield. Both teams arrived on the battlefield. Right after the battle started, the number one player Arvam. Charges toward the opposite end in extreme speed. Just him alone he crushed all the opponents in his sight. Not even five minutes has passed, the victory was already declared.
