Chapter 55: Bandits attack

After escaping they fall three floors down of the dungeon. Ronie falls first and followed by Kaede falling on her body.
“Its hurts.”
“I’m sorry… Are you okay?”
“My Vitality is high don’t worry about it, Master.”
“I still feel about it…”
Looking around Kaede notices how far they go down. The ceiling where they fall is too high. It's about 20 meters high from the floor they stand on.
“Far down here they probably won’t pursue us.”
“I think we should be careful Master…” Ronie said as she stood up and wipe the dirt on her skirt and armor. She continues. “… I heard bandits usually stole goods and items from other players. Most of them move in groups to accomplish their goal.”
“That means the dungeon and rare item in this dungeon are not what they're going after. They are targeting me.”
Ronie nods upon Kaede’s realization.
“The spear user earlier might come down with other players.”
“We need to hide our presence I guess… Smokescreen!”
Thick white smoke was released on Kaede's white armor. Concealing their presence. Taking the advantage of the smokescreen. The two girls run away from the place where they both fell.
Just like Kaede and Ronie expected. The bandits hop down to the place where they fall.
“Clever… She is clever…”
The spear players muttered when they arrived.
The bandit is formed by ten players. Five swordsmen and two mages. One spear used and the other two is agility type that can use both long-range bow and daggers.
The bandits boss is a tall man and his waist was a long sword. His trademark was his eyes warped in a blindfold.
“Boss we can navigate them. This has is a detection nullifying zone. We can’t use detection skills in this area.”
“It's surprising how big is this new dungeon was. According to the blogs. The boss room in this dungeon is not yet captured. The rare drop is not yet obtained.”
“That’s the second priority. Our priority is Kaede. She is quite a loot. That’s the main reason we followed her in the first place. Kaede doesn’t have enough mobility there's a great chance that they are still around this area.”
“How about the second girl with Kaede?”
“Never heard of her, but her being with Kaede is a hint that she’s something special. Her guild is full of oddly powerful players. Don’t let your guards down. One strike from Kaede’s sword will lead to your doom.”
“Boss are you seeking revenge on Kaede?”
“Don’t be stupid… I don’t have any resentment toward her. She defeated me that’s all. She has made her skill to its full potential. I lost on the battle island event. For now, I’m seeking the item she looted and more. We can sell it in auction at a high price for some real money.”
The boss's name was Jix a former top player and now a bandit and founder of Blacknight guild. A guild of bandits stealing rare items and selling them to other players at a high price.
“As expected from boss… Clever! Clever!”
The spearman's name is Merak said as he cracks a disgusting smile on his face.
The ten players started moving and search for Kaede and Ronie.
After they leave, Kaede and Ronie were hiding right behind the pillar near the place where they left. Using Protection skill Safeguard skill and Stealth skill.
Their presence was hidden. Leading the bandits to think that the place is a Detection nullifier zone.
They wait for another ten minutes hiding in the same place.
They both take a deep breath and get out from the place they're hiding.
“Good thing Ronie has that skill.”
“I’m a defense specialist. Invisibility and hiding presence is one way to defense.”
“Anyway, I’m glad their party already left. The boss's calling looks very strong. He's like a terrifying ex-military kind of man.”
“He looks like one.”
“Now let's move to the opposite direction where they go.”
“Okay.”
Kaede took the lead and walk. But little that they know one player from the bandits remained in the same place waiting for them.
Its dagger was a swing at extreme speed toward Kaede’s head. In few spit seconds Kaede will be cut off.
“Cover move!”
Ronie immediately appeared in front of Kaede to block the sword.
“That was unexpected.”
The player used Ronie’s shield as a stepping stone and leap upward. From above he gets a bow and arrows and fires explosive shots down to Kaede and Ronie.
“Exploding Arrows!”
Smoke from the explosion created a veil to hide the presence of Kaede and Ronie. The moment the smoke decreased. The player notice that Ronie was standing unharmed.
“Expected from shield user. The vitality is high enough to take high damaging skills… Wait? Where is Kaede?”
“I’m here!”
Kaede appeared right behind the player. The player move his body at the last minute and made distance away from Kaede.
Kaede’s sword wing missed.
“Going close combat is not dangerous.”
“I won’t let you get away! Sword fire!”
The fire blade was released and flew in the player's direction.
“This is bad! Barrier activate!”
His character's head was cut down away from his body. The damage Kaede deal is enough to strike down the players HP.
“Impossible… Her sword skill goes through my thick barrier skill…”
His body was then reduced to light particles. The cautious man is defeated but the loud noise the battle made. Hinted the boss and his other underlings.
All move-in high speed they appeared right before Kaede's eyes.
“Extreme speed!”
Three players come and attack Kaede heads on. The spear and two swords are all blocks with Kaede’s sword.
“Awesome reflexes!”
“?!”
“Move away!”
Kaede’s sword glows for a bit and suddenly the three players was blasted down. If they didn’t see the skill coming they might be defeated like what their comrade has face earlier.
“Sword skill: Repel!”
“That was strong… My HP was reduced to red zone instantly.”
“Is this girl a rookie?”
“She is really good to be called a rookie.”
“So this is Kaede’s face. This is my first time seeing her up close. She is a cutie like everyone said.”
“Don’t be fool… The face might be angelic, but she is a player that acquired the nickname of a sword demon.”
For now, Kaede can’t use her paralyzing roar and smog combo because of her equipment. She is thinking of a way to defeat all the players around her in instant.
Changing equipment is not an option.
Opening the menu and changing will take some time. The opponents in front of them all can use speed up skill Extremespeed.
Being careless will lead to their defeat.
One thing is in Kaede’s mind.
“There are too many of them.”
Ronie was worried and her grip on her giant shield was shaking.
Kaede smiled and put a look at Ronie with a smile.
“Don’t worry Ronie… I’ll take care of them. But I need your support to defeat them.”
Kaede remained optimistic and didn’t even bother being worried. Kaede's current fierce expression and smiling against the odds. Cause Ronie to respect Kaede more than ever.
Ronie snapped out of it and look fiercely at her opponents.
“Ronie has high Vitality right?”
“That’s right…”
“I guess I can do this…”
The bandits are cautious and not making any move from distance.
“... Kaede style!”
“What is that? IS that skill?”
“Man-made earthquake!”
Kaede strikes the ground leading for it to shake. It's almost the same way she did earlier. The ground shakes and brakes because of the heavy impact her sword made to the floor.
The players lost their balance on the ground. The cracks keep on running.
In few moments the floor was destroyed and they go down to the lower floor.
