I woke up with unfathomable joy.
Yesterday was one of the most memorable dates that Lorraine and I had. I never felt any traces of blaming on her part, but rather she made me feel accepted and loved.
We had our own tour of Manila from Intramuros (where she marched like a soldier), to Manila Zoo (where she took a lot of our selfies together with every single animal I can name of), to the National Museum (where she pretended to be an archaeologist) and finally, we held hands while watching the sunset in Manila Bay.
The picturesque view made me appreciate not only Lorraine's love for me but Christ's love that is overflowing. I could not think of a word that can describe what my heart feels.
Our family could have been happier if we had God in our lives back then. But just like what Lorraine said, there's never a 'too late' for God and while we still can, we will be a family serving the Lord, both of us praying that we will find Dos and Tres soon.
We went home and ended just talking about anything from Star Wars to Marvel, to stocks and Investment and even about World Cup! We just talked up to the wee hours, eating homemade Buffalo Chicken wings and fries and Icecream. We never felt sleepy at all. We just enjoyed each other's company until at around 2 in the morning we decided to call it a 'night' and reflected on the life story of Gary Valenciano, one of the stories featured in the book which Vianna gave my wife.
The book is entitled This is my Story, a compilation of stories of people whose lives have been changed with their full surrender to God.
Gary was all successful with his singing career but there was an emptiness in his life that only God can fill in. Lorraine started singing her own version of Gary's 'Take Me Out of the Dark and yes, I did take video of her singing. She's just adorable.
"Hep, hep, My sleepy boy is finally awake."
Lorraine opened the door and brought a tray of freshly baked lasagna and tea with her. Wait, is it merienda time now?
"Oh? What time is it?"
"It's time for you to take a bath daddy because you stink but eat this first!"
"Ouch. How could you say that?" I tried smelling myself and Lorraine is right after all.
"It's almost 3 in the afternoon Henry. You missed breakfast and lunch! I was trying to wake you up but to no avail."
Did I really sleep that long? Perhaps my heart is just too rested that my body has finally gotten the sleep it needs and looking at my lovely wife, I am just so blessed.
"Thanks Baby for coming into my life."
"Thanks too Daddy but now is not the time to get all cheesy. Remember, we agreed to attend the prayer meeting later?"
"Yeah. At Vianna's church right? How could I forget that? This is all your fault baby."
I went to Lorraine and pinched her nose.
"I can't get enough of talking to you." And kissed her forehead.
"Silly you! But I still woke up early!"
"That's because you're a lot younger than me, I'm an old guy."
"Here we go again daddy. I think, I should come up with a new tag for you."
"Tag?"
"Yup."
"Like a dog?"
"Yeah, like my pet. Yeah. I'll just call you Chu-Chu."
"Chu-Chu?"
My playful wife is making fun of me again. Well I guess it's one of the perks of me being 10 year older than Lorraine.
"What if we just call each other love, or honey or hon or sweetheart? Will you feel not that old?"
Is my wife seriously asking me this?
"Nah. I was just teasing you. I still want to be your daddy, baby."
"Ooooow. Okay. So daddy emo, What do you want to wear for later?"
"Just anything casual Baby. I'm just a little worried though with us attending the prayer meeting."
"What about? We both agreed to know more about God and this is one way. Being part of a community of faith."
"We don't know much of Bible verses and this is all new to both of us. What if they think negatively about us?"
"Daddy, the Lord looks in our hearts, so don't you worry."
"I guess your right."
"Daddy, I'm just too happy that we are in this journey together."
Lorraine held my hand and...
"Daddy, let's pray for tonight. I am also anxious myself but excited too to know more about Him."
