Draven’s POV It all happened too fast. One second, Cassandra was clinging to the rock face, her body trembling like a leaf in the wind. The next, she let out a scream, her hands slipping as a snake lunged at her. My eyes locked on her just as she let go of the wall, the sound of her terror-filled scream echoing through the forest. “s**t,” I hissed under my breath, my heart lurching in my chest as her body spiraled downward. The safety rope snapped taut, catching her, but the impact was brutal. Her body jerked violently, and for a split second, I thought she’d managed to grab the rope again. But then she hung limp, her head lolling to the side. “Cass!” Axel’s voice rang out, raw and sharp. He was already moving, faster than I expected, scaling down the rock with controlled urgency. B
