Cassandra’s POV I gulped hard, avoiding my mom’s gaze and question. What was I to tell her? Do I tell her that these brothers were trying to turn me on and probably do something dirty to me under the table? There was no way in hell I could do that. I was certain heads would definitely roll if my mom even found out by mistake. “Are you okay, Cassandra?” my mom asked again, her brow creased in concern. I forced a smile, my face burning. “I’m fine,” I said through gritted teeth. Fine? No, I was not fine. My brain was a mess, still trying to wrap itself around the shifting, the fight in the woods, and the absolute chaos that had become my life. And now, on top of everything else, these guys thought it was hilarious to mess with me in public. And that too, in front of my parents. Gosh!
