Hours Before

Maddie P.O.V

I can't believe I am 18 already, Finally consider an "adult." Even though it only about mid-day, I still have to start and get ready to go to my appointment in the nail salon today. While my stylist and makeup crew would be coming around three in the afternoon to get me ready right before taking pictures at four-thirty.

I got out of bed and went straight to my bathroom. After showering and doing my necessities, I went to my closet and throw on a casual but cute outfit. I decide to go with a black legging and a white crop top with my denim jacket and my brown sandal. I grabbed my stuff and went downstairs to get something to eat. As I was heading the kitchen, I was looking through my phone that ... my brother came in out of nowhere and yell "HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY SIS" they all said in unison.

I screamed and was about to kill them. When I jumped into there arms and hugged them. I can't believe that I have been doing that since I was one running toward them to hug me. They are my family, the only family I have left with me. 

"Grazie Fratelli per Essere sempre stati con me nei miei alti e bass"[Thank you, brothers, for always being there with me in my ups and downs].

"Dovresti sempre essere la nostra sorellina. Saremo sempre qui con te, non importa. Sempre e per sempre" [ You should always be our little sister. We will always be here with you, no matter what. Always and Forever]. They all said in unison again.

Even though my brothers can be a pain in the ass, I still love them with all my heart. They are the only "Family" I have left.

You guys might be wondering where our parents are. Our parents left us to travel the world because my mother had been diagnosed with cancer. So my dad tried to grant her wishes, so they went to travel the world. After a year of touring, my mother died in Madrid, Spain. My dad was so devastated after her death that he decided to keep on traveling. Ever since, he hasn't come home yet.

After having brunch with them, I left to run my errands. I went to the nail salon, got my nails and toes done. I decide on a pink pastel color in matte. It took me ages to get home, the salon was full of people since I already had an appointment I went first before the other people. But they all got mad, like a b***h it's not my problem you didn't book an appointment way ahead. After being there for almost two hours, I left, but to my worst paparazzi were out of the nail salon. Since I don't like taking my security team when I just running errands, I thought it wasn't going to be a big deal. But no, my dumbass was like it was going to be okay.

As I speed walk trying to look for my car, they asked me a question...

"Maddie is true that you are getting engaged today?" said one reporter,

then another told..." Maddie is true you are pregnant. That why you are getting married?"

"Who is the mystery guy? Do we know him?"

"Are you getting married to Daniel Hernandez?The CEO of Hernandez Industries?"

But the question that shocks me the most was ...

"Maddie, did you know that Daniel Hernandez is married and is having a child soon ?" 

I was shocked when they said that. I was about to turn around when I bumped into a random guy. When he catches me before I fall.

" I am so sorry I didn't see you" I said 

Instead of saying anything back to me, he grabs my hand, and we started to run away from the paparazzi. We end up in a coffee shop while the paparazzi were looking for us. 

"What the hell was that for? Are you crazy?" he turns around and face me, "Jake?"I was left speechless. He looks different. I mean, really different. His style in clothes he went from an uptight dressing to like a bad boy look. Honesty, I am not going to lie about it, but he looks really hot. 

"Thx for saving me out there, "I said shyly. "No problem Madds... so is true then... that you are announcing your engagement tonight," he said in a sad, low voice. 

"I am."

"Is that why you called me the other day "

"Yeah, I wanted you to come to my dinner and my party at the club."

"I can't go ... I have something else to be tonight."

"I know that you are lying to me... you always play with your hands when you lie to me. So tell the truth, why don't you want to go to the party tonight ?"

"Well... because I just can't okay."

"Stop f*****g lying to me ... just tell me the f*****g truth. I want my best friend to be there."

"Fine, you want the truth.... the f*****g truth is that I am f*****g jealous, okay... I still love you .. that why I can't go seeing you get to engage with someone who is not me... it kills me inside."

I stayed quiet

"Say something?"

"What do you want me to say...That I loved back to or what ?"

He was about to say something, but I cut him off by leaving the cafe. Running toward my car, trying not to get caught by the paparazzi again. Once I got in, I drove as fast as I could to the house. I ran passed the staff straight to my room when my brother was yelling what happen, but I didn't answer them and just went straight to my room.

"What the hell.. Where have you been?" said Davina with an angry face.

"Sorry the was traffic"

"Stop lying to me because your brothers told me that you left at ten and know to look at the time its almost three thirty "

"Fine I will tell you then"

After telling her that I went to get my nails done, I ran into a crowd of paparazzi. When Jake found me, and we went to a small cafe and talk. I told her how Jake had a feeling toward me. She had a lot of questions about if I felt the same toward him -since she is the only one who knew about Jake and me in high school-. I know that lying to her was f**k up, but I couldn't tell her that I was getting married because of business. So I just lied to her face telling her that I didn't have any feelings toward him, but I still do. As we talk, my hair and makeup artist came to get us ready for tonight. For dinner, I was wearing a champaign gown with a sweetheart neckline, but as for the party, I was going to wear a black two-piece romper with an open back.

As I was about to enter my brother's office, I heard them talk to Daniel 

"You can't tell her," Nick said

"She has to know " Cole said

"I would tell her personally that I am married and having a kid "

"Can you repeat it?" I said in shook 

"Maddie"

"So it is true then.. that you're married already. So are you guys still letting me get married with this son of a bitch."

"Maddie just listen "

"No, I'm done with this bullshit.. già chiamo il mi avvocato" [I am calling my lawyer]

"il Vostro non andare a that..you sono ancora in corso per sposarsi con Lui"said Elijah [you're not going to that..you are still going to marry with him]

"Why are still attached to this agreement... its not important to the company ... we can get other investors with better alliances."

"Maddie just listen to me please, "Daniel said as he approaches me 

"Don't you dare to touch me. I don't have anything to talk with you."

"Please Maddie"

"NO. Now, if you excuse me, I have to go retouch and pretend to be someone I am not."

"I told you we had to tell her right away," said Cole

"It wouldn't of matter.. she would have still acted the same way."

"let just forget about and get ready for the engagement dinner."

Daniel P.O.V

What the hell just happen. Why didn't I tell her since the begging? None of this would happen if I told her right away. Now she even looks at me. I want to say to her that I love her with all my heart. That is just a misunderstanding. How am I going to put a straight face pretending to be in love with her when I ask for her hand in a few hours. Please, God, help me.
