Ronan's POV
"What…?" I was livid about the fact that she was causing me so much trouble already when it was just Harry's first day of being in the pack.
It was more annoying the way she was causing all of that trouble in spite of the fact she was without a wolf. I could almost see what made her father be willing to give up his daughter easily without giving it a second thought.
"Well… what are you waiting for…? Go get her!" I yelled to the men who were standing before me in shock.
I was sure my brother, Daryl, was going to laugh at me horribly if he was going to hear the really crappy treaty which I had signed with Stacy's pack.
They had gotten my word of peace by giving me the trash of their community which they had been longing to do away with ever since. The feeling of being played was quite terrible at that point.
"Stacy escaped again?" Daryl asked as he was heading out of the room with me at that point.
"How do you know her name?" I asked, as I was wondering if he had known her from somewhere. There were just no means of telling just how far the tales of my misery had gone at that point. "You know her from somewhere?"
"No…" he said in seeming denial as he was following me avidly. "I just happened to catch the gossip flying around the fortress. Don't worry, the tales of your ordeals are still safely confined here. And I will make sure no outsiders will hear about it."
I felt at rest as I heard him say those words at that point. There were just so many things that had me feeling like my secret was safe in his hands, as I was soon looking all around for the men who had been searching for her.
"Well… I might just know where she would be trying to make her escape from at this point." Daryl spoke with so much familiarity like he was speaking of some sort of friend whom he knew everything about. He was really overstepping all the possibilities which I had in mind.
"How could you be so sure…?" I asked, hoping that I could find some sort of answer that could make some sense to me at that moment. "Have you known her before now?"
At that point, I was sure I was the one who was going to be suspected from that moment on, as I had asked him to know her over and over without even knowing what was making me ask that.
"Just calm down… it's just simple psychology…" Daryl said with a confident smile as he was soon the one who was taking the lead while I followed.
That was nothing short of weird, as he happened to seem to know what to do in spite of the fact he had just returned to the pack that evening.
It had me wondering what he could have been doing while he had been away from the pack. He suddenly seemed to have become much smarter than he had been before he left the pack back then.
"Are you not going to tell me what exactly you're doing?" I hated the fact that it had been left in the dark by the one who had been trying to help me out. Being a leader made me not used to following from behind. It felt like a weird teller anomaly.
"You have nothing to fear. You can follow me, or just sit back on your throne while I bring the prisoner back to you." He was brimming with confidence and that made me want to follow him all the way to where he was going to at that point.
There were just too many things that had me feeling like I was about to get myself to see the most unexpected sight ever.
"You could possibly be leading us to anywhere right now…" after saying that, I decided to keep quiet as I was sincerely hoping that I wouldn't be turning into a distraction for my brother, who seemed to be really focused on what he was doing at that point.
I had followed him all the way downstairs, into the vast lawn at the back of the fortress. It was almost impossible to ignore all the critical thoughts which told me I was wasting my time by entrusting him with the task of trying to catch my runaway bride.
Thinking of that weakling at my bride made me feel sick, and I was wondering what exactly I was going to actually do with her when she came back.
"If you are really going to catch her, I'm surely going to make her pay for being such a pain before I returned her to her pack in such a shameful manner she wouldn't be forgetting in a hurry." I was soon voicing out the thoughts which I had been going over in my head ever since the chase had taken me out of the main building.
Soon enough, I could see what looked like a feminine figure as it was running without any direction at all. I found myself identifying who had actually been her. That cleared whatever doubts I had in my heart about my brother.
"You can leave it all to me right now…" Daryl said as he was soon trying to overtake me in the pursuit. There were just too many things that had me feeling like he was losing my mind as I came to a stop to watch the whole thing as it was happening right before me.
Daryl's speed was somewhat frightening as he was soon covering up an alarming amount of space in so little time. It felt like he had gotten all of that in his time away from the pack.
What the heck was he going to do with her when he would finally catch up? I couldn't wait to find out.
