Beginning
I am known as the Beast, a nickname that has stuck with me since my first tour in Afghanistan. It's a war moniker that I've come to embrace, as it instills fear and respect in those who don't, and those who do know me. I am often mistaken for a monstrous and intimidating figure, but it's all part of the fun to see the look of shock on people's faces when they meet me for the first time.
I'm a young woman of twenty, standing at a mere five-foot-four, with a hairstyle that's a cross between a military buzz cut and a pixie bob, swept stylishly to the right. My eyes are a striking mix of emerald green and chocolate brown, and my toned physique and angelic face often lead others to underestimate me.
But when they try to step on my toes, my dark side awakens and let's just say the i***t who did that will be found sooner rather than latter "Who summoned the devil? Step forward, we're sacrificing you to appease her".
My earliest memories are shrouded in mystery, save for my recollection of growing up in the forest. Sometimes, I feel like I had a family once, a mother, a father, and a younger brother, but their faces elude me even in my dreams. Watching other families in the woods, observing the love and affection they shared, only amplified the absence of such feelings in my own life.
But eventually, I found my own family in my three stooges: Gabriel Smith, or "War", Philipe Ferreira, also known as "Gluttony," and Daniel Morris, or "Pride." These chosen brothers of mine have been with me through thick and thin, through deployments and battles, and I know that they would lay down their lives for me as I would for them, my only wish is that time never cames.
We're a special forces team with no real names or ranks, just our war nicknames. We as a team are known as the Four Horsemen, and we go where others fear to tread, doing what others cannot. Unfortunately, this makes us unfit for rescue in the eyes of our superiors. If we were ever captured or killed, no one would come to our rescue, or retrieve our corpses.
We are always on call, even during vacations, which nowadays have to be in group, they are rare but enjoyable. But this time, I made sure that we would have a real break from the military's demands. Japan was our chosen destination, decided upon by a very scientific game of rock, paper, scissors, which I won with a grin.
We packed our bags and embarked on what was about to turn into an adventure of a lifetime.
By the way, my true name is “Kira Knight".
