The Alpha and the castle’s maid

I, Alpha Benjamin, reject you, Arora Broadshield, as my mate and my Luna.” As soon as the words left his mouth, they hit me like a physical blow. My heart felt pierced, shattered into pieces. My knees buckled, and I lost my balance. I crumbled to the floor, all my hopes and aspirations crashing down around me. Tears streamed down uncontrollably. The pain ripped through me , unbearable , overwhelming. Everything went blank. I opened my eyes and looked around. I realized I was in a hospital. I checked to make sure no one was around. Once I was sure it was safe to escape, I picked up my clothes, changed, and left, never to look back. I had no idea where I was heading, but that was the last thing I cared about. I just needed to get out of there. I left the pack immediately and fortunately nobody was there to stop me. ALPHA BENJAMIN I felt empty since Arora left the pack. I rejected her to save her from my enemies. I could not explain to her because, I could not figure out how to explain to her for her to understand the situation I was in. I saw how broken she was when I said those words, It really hurt me to know that she will hate me for my actions. I sat in my office and everything was coming back to me, how I got myself into this situation. Flash of thoughts Alpha, you have seven more days to decide who to choose as your Luna. This is what has been coming into my mind since we had that meeting with the elders. The elders have been behind my back, frustrating the little peace I have since I lost my parents in the rogues attack that took their lives five years ago. There was an attack on our pack one night and I lost the two of them that same night. The memory is still fresh as if it just happened yesterday. My parent went on a trip and they were coming back that night only to meet a battle in the pack. They both sprung into action, they fought bravely but they were out numbered because, some of our warriors had gone to the neighboring pack to assist on the constant attack on their pack. It was later after the attack that we found out that it was a coordinated attack. But, we have not been able to find out who masterminded the attack. I am an Alpha of one of the largest pack in North America, we are wealthy, but, despite all the affluence, my life has been through one trouble to another, since I lost my parents. Few days ago, the elders came with the law which has been abolished for centuries because of the hatred they have for my parent. Even when they were alive, some of them could not hide the dislike they had but, this was unable to stop my parent from performing their duties as the pack leaders. One of them is elder Michael, he was able to convince the other elders, that was why I was called into a meeting few days ago, to force me into getting a Luna. I guess he has intense dislike for me or there is something he tend to gain by making my life miserable. I am 25 years old, and I had not met my mate at this time, I was supposed to have met her when I became 18 years old, which is a normal thing for an Alfa wolf but, I could not explain why my situation was different. Sometimes, a thought of being cursed crosses my mind which I always ward off because, I wouldn’t want such thought to dominate my mind. I don’t want to start suspecting everyone around me. I was in a dilemma of choosing Elizabeth. I have been seeing her for a year now. Although, I don’t have any feelings for her. I just saw her as an easy lay. I usually call her over to the pack house when I needed to relieve myself and clear my head. I am not really into girls, but , I can say she is really good. She doesn’t get tired no matter how many time I had her. That was why I always call her any time I feel like having a good time. I am not really into girls, and this has made it impossible for me to have alternatives when it comes to choosing someone as my Luna. Actually, I would have loved my destined mate by my side but, the situations right now is making that almost impossible. I don’t think I have any other choice than to choose Elizabeth right now. I was in my office ruminating and a thought came into my mind. Could the reason behind my problem be, not being able to keep my pen between my legs? Elizabeth is elder Michael’s only daughter and I have been seeing her for a year. This is becoming like a broken puzzle coming together. Why haven’t I thought about this before now. I think my problem is from dating elder Michael’s daughter. After thinking for hours, I remembered, I had files to attend to. I had worked for hours on the abandoned files without knowing that I had been on it for so long. I had not checked the files for two days since I was told about the union that will soon take place if, I am unable to find my destined mate. I had worked for hours without noticing that it was already past midnight. I stood up and decided to have a coffee before going to bed since I had lost appetite because of the whole scenario. I went through the corridor that led to the stirs which led to the kitchen. I was just negotiating the corner that led to the stirs when I perceived a pleasant aroma of lavender mixed with vanilla. The aroma cannot be mistaken, this could only be that my mate is somewhere around. Salene has decided to bless me with a mate after I had lost all hope. I needed to confirm before jumping into conclusions. As I moved closer to the kitchen, the aroma became more comforting and pungent. Could this be true? Thank you Salene, what more could I ask than to meet my mate. I became eager and I increased my pace. When I arrived eventually at the kitchen I could only see Arora, a female castle servant cleaning the used utensils. I looked around to see if there was another person around. To my amazement, it was only her and the aroma was coming from her. Salene are you truly playing games with me right now? What have I done now or in my previous life to deserve you doing this to me? I kept asking Salene the moon goddess series of questions that I forgot that Arora was already standing directly before me. As I decided to take a step forward , I bumped into her and our mouths almost met. If someone had met us in that position, the person would have thought that we were kissing, probably making out with her. I told her I was sorry and I stepped away from her. I could not remember how I got into my room because, it was as if I was running crazy. ARORA I left the hospital in a hurry, I had no idea where I was heading. I was crying profusely that I did not notice that someone was following me, when I realized it was almost too late. I called beauty, I can sense that someone was trailing us. It was then she became alert. She has been down since we were rejected that, she just went to the corner of my mind. She requested if I would like her to take over which I voluntarily did. She picked up her pace and she ran so much that I had never seen. She gave me back the control after, she was sure it was safe to do so. I have been walking for hours, I am so tired, thirsty, and famished that my legs became so heavy. I felt I couldn’t move further. Although, my intention is to find my way to human settlement because, I believed I will be safe there. I can’t risk my pack discovering my whereabout. I was not aware of my location but because of the exhaustion, I decided to take a break and rest for a while to regain my strength. I didn’t realized I had dozed off until I felt someone’s presence and I jumped up to see an elderly lady looking at me with pity. Where are you from? Are you lost? She kept asking series of questions and when she noticed that I was not responding to any of them, she stopped asking. I was too tired to talk and she noticed it. “We need to get out of here because it’s not safe for us to linger here for too long. it is almost sun down and this place can be dangerous when it is dark.” I nodded and she dragged me along, after walking for a while, a cabin became visible and we entered. I could not take inn the simplicity of the interior because of exhaustion. She quickly went into the kitchen and she brought out bread and hot coffee.I asked her if I could get water to drink because my throat was very dry and she went back into the kitchen and came with a glass of water. I quickly gulped it down. And it took few more minutes for me to be able to find the strength to talk and I said thank you. She nodded, she waited for me to finish the meal and she repeated those questions against, but this time I gave her a story of an orphan that was maltreated by her master and with the look on her face, I think my story looked convincing enough, because I saw her very close to tears when I finished narrating the story I framed up because, she is human and my kind had stayed hidden for centuries and I can’t risk letting her know that I am a wolf. She told me that she comes to that cabin most of the times to take a short break from work that, in a few days she will be leaving for the city and she asked, if I would not mind to leave with her to the city. If only she knew that, that was what I wanted ,to live among the humans. I just prayed that my people will not find me till we leave for the city. Because, she felt I needed a doctor to check my health condition, she said that I really look sick, she decided to leave earlier. After, driving for few hours, we arrived at her home. She lives in a moderately large house, with the look of things, is like she is an average lady. She showed me my own room and I was surprised that my room has everything I can wish for. I jumped into my bed and I slept off. Pls, Ben don’t deny our love, I want to be with you. Pls, don’t reject me. I started crying profusely. Arora, wake up! wake up!
