Chapter one:The Heiress
*Chapter One: The Heiress* Arianna Adewale was born with a diamond-encrusted pacifier in her mouth, and a trust fund that rivaled the GDP of a small country. Her father, Mr. Adewale, was a self-made billionaire with a penchant for fine things - expensive cars, designer clothes, and beautiful women. And, oh yeah, he had a whole bunch of wives 😂. Arianna's mom, his first wife, was the love of his life, or so everyone thought. But when she couldn't produce a male heir, he went ahead and married Amara, a curvaceous bombshell with a PhD in manipulation. The household went from drama-free to ' what's-the-password-to-the-safe' crazy overnight. Arianna, being the eldest, got the brunt of it all. She was like a Ferrari in a garage full of reckless mechanics - high maintenance, and always in danger of crashing. Her stepmom Amara was the head mechanic, always 'accidentally' trying to scrap her. One day, Arianna came home from boarding school, and found Amara flirt-fighting with her dad in the living room. She cleared her throat, and they both jumped like they'd been caught stealing đŸ€Ł. Her dad, trying to play it cool, introduced Amara as the 'new normal' in their household. Arianna rolled her eyes so hard, she almost fell over. "Welcome home, princess," Amara cooed, handing Arianna a designer bag with a snake inside. Arianna knew it was a warning - play nice, or else. Arianna Adewale's eyes fluttered open to the sound of her maid, Bisi, flanking her bed with a tray of fresh croissants and chilled freshly squeezed orange juice. "Good morning, princess!" Bisi chimed, as if Arianna didn't own the entire mansion. She sat up, stretching her designer PJs (yes, they were Versace), and took a sip of the OJ. Tangy and perfect, like everything else in her life. Downstairs, her dad, Mr. Adewale, was having a power breakfast with his newest acquisition – Amara, the curvaceous bombshell he'd married six months ago. Arianna's mom was 'on vacation' in London, but everyone knew she was hiding in a Swiss clinic, rehabbing her broken heart with a side of Botox 😏. Arianna sauntered into the dining hall like she owned the place (she did), and Amara's eyes lit up like a Gucci sale. "Good morning, sweetie!" she cooed, air-kissing Arianna's cheek. Translation: "Don't mess with me, princess." Mr. Adewale, oblivious as usual, waved his fork. "Arianna, meet your new 'sister'... Amara's working on getting you and her kids to be besties." Arianna forced a smile. Besties? More like rivals-in-law đŸ€Ł. Post-breakfast, Arianna escaped to her closet – a.k.a. therapy – and picked a Chanel outfit for the day. Clothes = power. Shoes = mood boosters. She needed both for today's family 'bonding' at the Adewale Group HQ. Amara would probably try to slap her with a fake 'accidental' coffee spill. Game on. Arianna's phone buzzed. Her bestie, Tayo, texted: "R u ready for this? Gossip says Amara's plotting s.t.h" Arianna smirked. Plot twist: she'd be ready. She slipped into her Louboutins and headed downstairs. Mr. Adewale and Amara were waiting by the car, looking like a mismatched pair of designer shades. "Shall we?" Arianna said, and stepped into the SUV. The drive to the office was a silent ride of tension. Amara chatted with Mr. Adewale about 'family business', but Arianna tuned out. Her mind wandered to Alex, the new guy she'd met at the club last week. Rich, charming, and didn't care about her family's drama. Maybe he'd be her escape. At the office, Arianna's arrival caused a stir. Staff whispered, Amara glared, and Mr. Adewale beamed with pride. "My daughter, the future CEO!" he declared. Amara's smile was a razor cut. Arianna Adewale woke up to Bisi flanking her bed with a tray of fresh croissants and chilled OJ. "Good morning, princess!" she chimed. Arianna sat up, stretching her designer PJs, and took a sip. Arianna smiled sweetly, "Maybe I'll just run the Adewale empire... if Dad lets me." After breakfast, Arianna escaped to her closet – a.k.a. therapy – and picked a Chanel outfit.
