Chapter 9 A tragic wedding

Six more months went by and soon they had been together for a year. They were all set to get married. Alex had bought Sarah a plane ticket so she could be there when the time came. Sadly a paparazzi broke the news of the upcoming wedding to a tabloid. So it was all over the Internet. They couldn't change the date though because they had made all the reservations and paid the deposits. It was going to be a beachfront wedding.

They couldn’t wait to get married. Zander was still a little jealous but was happy that he could still have Lila in his life. The band mates were busy getting Alex ready while Sarah was there to help Lila. Everything was already set up at the beach. The chairs, flowers and they had yummy food that was going to be delivered post wedding.

“I can’t believe you are getting married.” “Me either!” She started curling her hair with a curling iron. Her gorgeous white dress was already on. “I’m so glad you found happiness. You deserve it.” “Thank you, I hope you find your prince charming someday too.” They both smiled at each other.

Soon she finished getting her ready. She looked beautiful. Zander came up dressed sharply in a black suit and purple tie. “Ready for me to walk you down the aisle?” He asked kissing her cheek. “Yes I am.” They linked arms and the three of them started walking towards the beach. An elegant wedding arch made with pink flowers stood at the edge of the beach. Alex was in a blue suede suit and he looked stunning. Everyone watched as Lila and Zander walked down the aisle. Sarah took her place in front of the arch and was getting teary eyed. Zander hugged Lila and whispered that he loved her. She said she loved him back. Then he stood by Sarah and started crying himself.

“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join Alexander and Lila in holy matrimony. Alex do you take Lila to be your wife in sickness and health till death do you part? “I do.” “Lila do you take Alex to be your husband in sickness and health till death do you part? “I do.” “I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss.” “Ah that man has a gun!” Someone shouted. They turned around in horror to see Mark pointing a pistol right at Lila. “You are going to die.” He shouted. He fired the gun but Zander jumped in front of her just as Benjie tackled Mark. The bullet went through him and punchered his heart. He fell to the ground and was bleeding heavily. Someone dialed 911 to help Zander and take Mark to jail but it looked like Zander wasn’t going to make it.

Alex and Lila started crying and holding their hands on his chest to stop the bleeding but it was no use. “Lila I love you.” She bent down and kissed his lips one last time. “I love you too.” She wept. “I love you too my brother.” He said hugging him. “I love you too.

The ambulance arrived but It was too late. Lila laid on his chest crying hysterically. Alex rubbed her back and tried to calm her. The police dragged Mark off after tasering him. He was to be locked up for life.

Epilogue

It had been a year after Zander had past. Lila and Alex were pregnant with their first child. They were having a boy. That day they were visiting Zander’s grave. Lila bent down and placed a bouquet of flowers. Then she kissed his gravestone. “I miss you so much. I’m having a boy and I’m naming him after you. I love you so much.” “I love you too my brother. We will see you someday.”
