Progress report: Damon Leiter is on track to provide the breakthrough our project requires—there is no question in my mind. In areas of security penetration, stealth surveillance, data search and retrieval, and others, he has developed methods that completely elude our own technical staff. We are still unable to gain access to these methods directly from Leiter, although that will not be an impediment much longer, since he continues to teach his discoveries to his companions who are much more tractable. The best solution would be to recruit Leiter into our fold. Unfortunately, early mishandling of his case soured that opportunity; and now Dr. Emery Taggart himself has met with Leiter.
