A Throw Back

CHAPTER 12

It was very dark in the bush, Mrs Mary and jenny don't know which direction to follow, so when they walked close to a big tree they went under and slept there.

When it was already morning they woke up from sleep. As the morning sun shines everywhere jenny started acting weird, looking around as if she recognized something. Mrs Mary asked what is it that is making her move around and she said,

"this is déjà vu, I mean it's like I've been here before, this tree..., wait a moment, oh! my... we are close to my village".

Mrs Mary asked, "your village?".

She answered, "yes, my guard mother's village, where I grew up, come on!!.. let's go this way".

Mrs Mary was tired of walking, she said she can't continue the journey cause she needed to rest, then she asked jenny, "I thought you said we're close". Jenny told her yes that they are really very close. They later got there and went to guard mother Tina's house. She welcomed them to her humble home and jenny introduced both of them to each other, but her house was not fit for a person like Mrs Mary who's skin is very nice and sensitive. She was already feeling ill on the way when they were still in the bush and later fall sick. Guard mother Tina and jenny gave her comfort and took care of her very well.

While she was asleep, guard mother Tina asked jenny what really happened to them. Jenny told her everything that happened to them, how they were kidnapped and how God made them escape.

In the night, three of them where outside gazing at the beautiful stars in the sky and were discussing. Mrs Mary asked guard mother Tina about Jenny's mother, how did they know each other. Guard mother Tina began to narrate,

"she didn't actually come to me on her own, I found her lying helpless and hungry in the bush, with her clothes turn as if she fought with someone", Mrs Mary said immediately, "when was that". Tina told her it was 1960, mary told her that Elisa left home 1955. Tina told her that she was with her ex and she continued, "After bringing her to my home and when she was already feeling better, she told me everything that happened, she said she ran away to protect Harrison, her ex boyfriend wanted to kill Harrison at their wedding day. He was there at the party holding a gun and nobody noticed him except Elisa. He was actually waiting for a perfect time to strike so that he wouldn't miss his target. He told Elisa that if she dares marry Harrison, he will kill him and also threatens to kill you as well if she dares say a word. she was confused so she decided to follow her ex, cause she don't want anybody to get hurt". Mrs Mary said no wonder Elisa left and never returned, and then she asked guard mother Tina where Elisa could be by now.

Mother Tina looked at jenny and told her it's time for her to know the Truth, jenny asked what truth and Tina said, "Elisa is not your mother". Jenny dropped tears and was silent for some seconds and later asked mother Tina what she just said. Tina continued, "after running away, she later finds out that she was already pregnant for her ex, who always forced himself on her. Well what's done is done, Elisa loved her baby very much even though she knew she was carrying the child of a lunatic, she decided to keep the pregnancy. Eight months later of staying here with me in the village with her pregnancy, she found you in a basket kept under a tree closed to the market. She took you in and was ready to raise you like her own, but unfortunately for her she was unable to deliver. She knew she had a delivery problem so she decided to go back to the city to find solution and proper treatment. She left you to me and I promised I will take care of you, but when you left I regret telling you lies that your mother left to the city to start a new life, I was only trying to stop you from going to the city cause I thought she might come back to us, but you still insisted in going".

Jenny stopped crying and said, "you lied to me that she was my mother, I have to do all I can to find her, but now.. now it turns out I'm just an orphan". Tina started to cry and then say to her, "I'm sorry", and Mrs Mary was just silent looking at the two of them crying, she felt Jenny's pain and then gave her a hug.

One night freedom and Melissa, after coming from the search of their mother and jenny, as they were about to open the door and enter inside kira called them and they were shocked to see her. Freedom asked her that how could she do all this to them, after treating her like a family. Kira told them that she's not there for plenty talks, then told freedom to marry her at all cost. Melissa told her she must be a fool for saying that, then freedom asked her that what will happen if he doesn't marry her. Kira laughed and told him, "freedom don't try me, you don't know what I can do, I'm capable of doing anything evil to anyone and when I say evil I mean I can even kill for your love". Freedom told her to shut up and she still continued, " haven't you wonder who of all people really poisoned your father, it was me freedom, I did", she smiled after speaking. Melissa said, "you monster", and wanted to rush kira to fight with her, then kira brought out a gun and stretched it towards Melissa, and freedom quickly dragged Melissa back immediately after he saw kira with a gun. Melissa yelled with pains and anger that why did she do it, what did her father do to her that made her poisoned him. Kira said,

"can you believe it, the reason he wants freedom to Mary me was because of my father's money".

Melissa was surprised to hear that and couldn't say anything then kira continued, "it really hurt me when I heard him say it and wanted to teach him a lesson, so I poisoned him to paralyze his body, good for him that the doctor said it's temporary".

"why kira?, we treated you like a family", freedom said to kira and she said, "family?, all I asked for was your love, but what did you do, you were loving that twerp of a girl, jenny!!".

Her anger grew more and more and she cracked the gun. Freedom nicely told kira to drop the gun that no one is expected to get hurt then kira said if he doesn't marry her then somebody is going to die. Freedom have no choice but just to tell her what she wants to hear that he will marry her and she said, " you think I'm stupid, but don't worry, I'll give you just two days, two days to prepare everything, we will get married and you will love and follow only me, me alone!!!", then she left.
