Chapter 14 Ten months later, James and Kenji drove to Santa Cruz for dinner on the wharf and then a moonlight stroll on the beach. Kenji loved being with James. He no longer worried how long they’d last together. Something inside told him it would be a hell of a long time. They had a few disagreements over mostly small issues, and neither became upset. James held Kenji’s hand. “I can’t believe when I first met you I thought you were a jerky left-wing do-gooder.” “I’m still a left-wing do-gooder, and you’re still a right-wing stubborn ‘do it my way’ type of guy.” They kissed.
