Third Person POV
She simply sat there in the cold dark corner of the cell they locked her in. She had no way to tell how much time had passed. Minutes, hours, days all blurred. She could have been there for an hour or a day. However much time passed, it was long enough for her to start to shiver from the damp cold that leeched her warmth away.
Anna could not see nor hear. Her movement was limited by the chain collaring her to the cement wall. Her neck burned from the enchanted iron but she refused to call out. She had no way to know if they would help her or punish her. So she sat there, cold, scared, and alone.
Damien POV
Anna had been in the cell for roughly twelve hours and we decided it was past time someone went to give her water. After a brief argument, I convinced them it would be best if I go seeing as I would be able to tell how she was feeling. We highly doubted she would be talking to us at this point in time.
I was drawn away from my thoughts as I realized how silent she was emotionally. I expected fear, anger, and sadness. Probably confusion and hurt as well but I was getting nothing from the direction of her cell. I quickened my pace as my worry grew.
I felt a brief sense of relief at seeing her huddled in the far corner. She wasn’t able to tell I was here so she remained still as I approached her. I soon realized she was shivering from the coldness of the concrete walls.
Can one of you bring a warm blanket for her? She is shivering and even I can feel the coldness down here. I linked my brothers.
Yea, but I’ll give you a little while to get her to drink. After she isn’t so dehydrated we’ll give her the blanket. It will be positive reinforcement to depend on us. Alexei linked me back.
I turned my focus back on Anastasia once I closed the link. I didn’t want to scare her, but there was no way to let her know I was here besides touching her. I reached out and brushed her ankle lightly.
I jumped a little at the scream my tougch elicited from her. At my touch she flinched violently into the wall resulting in a pained cry after her scream. I immediately reached for her head to see how hard she had hit it. This time I made sure to have my hand between her head and the wall before touching her again.
I was glad I had learned from my mistake the first time as she flinched back into my hand as I touched her again. There was certainly a bump but I couldn’t feel or smell fresh blood so I figured she would be alright. Satisfied, I reached for the water bottle I brought down for her.
I held it up to her lips for her to drink. I could sense her fear towards trusting me but also her body’s need for water. Eventually, she accepted the water I was offering. Slowly she drank the entire bottle. When she was finished, I set the bottle to the side and held her hand. I turned as Dom entered the cell with a thick fuzzy blanket for Anna.
As I went to wrap her in the blanket she once again pulled away from me. I could feel her fear strongly present once again. I took her hand and placed it on the blanket as I worked to sooth her fear enough to accept the warmth the blanket would provide.
Several minutes later she relaxed enough for me to wrap the blanket around her shoulders. She reached up and grasped the blanket’s edges to pull it tighter around her. I could feel how tired she was and decided to leave her be for a while. I knew Alexei would be down in the next couple hours with food.
Reluctantly, I let go of Anna and turned to walk away.
“NO!” She finally spoke, “Please, please no. Don’t leave me. I don’t know what I did wrong, but I swear I will never do it again. I promise, just please, please don’t leave me here. I can’t see! I can’t hear! Please no…” It ripped my heart into pieces to have to keep walking.
I could hear her pleas the entire time I walked to rejoin the guys upstairs.
I sank to the floor and leaned again the dungeon’s door after closing my mate down there on her own. I hated this! I hate how we are doing this to her. How she cannot see or hear, chained to the wall like a common dog. Maybe she would like a dog when she is no longer down there.
I hear humans love them and trust them due to how loyal dogs were. I decided to research different dogs and pick one to give to her. When she feels she cannot trust us at least she will have a dog to love and trust until we gain her trust back.
