Chapter 10

Deaton had been skeptical when Scott had called him. Even though Scott had never lied to him or was prone to hysteria, Deaton still had a hard time believing that Vampires still existed, let alone were in Beacon Hills. Alas his proof was right here in front of him in the form of an ancient alluring woman with glowing silver eyes. He remembered the stories his grandmother used to tell him and his sister about their ancestors interactions with vampires from the old world. Vampires were the result of a demon mating with one of the ancient Fae. They weren't inherently evil and they weren't walking corpses, contrary to popular media portrayal. They breathed, their hearts beat and they definitely didn't rise from the grave. Their skin was cooler to the touch, a side effect of their demon DNA. Some vampires even had special gifts, inherited from the Fae side of their nature. Right then one of those ancient myths was looking him in the eye warily. She could feel the power of his ancestors it seemed although he himself didn't know he had any. " I will not harm you. Please tell me how he got the silver in his eyes?" He asked again and the woman, correction, ancient pure blooded vampire lowered her eyes before they went back to their verdant green. She shrugged as she looked down at the young werewolf in her lap. It was obvious to him that she loved him which he found unusual. She was just as worried about the boy's fate as Deaton was." I honestly don't know. I didn't think my blood would affect him this way. I didn't know that my blood would bond with him. I only wanted to speed his healing. He would have died otherwise. Please Druid can you help him? can you undo what I've done?" she practically begged him. Deaton was quiet for a moment and then sighed." I can try but I don't know and please call me Deaton" he said as he slowly made his way over to them. " You know contrary to popular belief, Vampires and Werewolves weren't always enemies. The first vampires came from Acculon. They settled mostly in Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Acculon, that is where most of their kin lived when they came to our world" Deaton said as he checked Wyatt over. Chris stopped him by touching his arm. " Wait are you telling me that vampires aren't even from this world?" he asked and Deaton chuckled and shook his head." Not world Chris dimension, or reality if you will" he said and Chris looked even more confused. Ara smiled." What he means is, there is a realm parallel to yours, that demons and Fae come from. That is where vampires are from as well, although we haven't been back there since we left. We weren't exactly welcome there" she said as Chris wrote all of the new information down while shaking his head. " Gerard would have a field day with this" he said with a sigh. " My people are the result when a Demon mates with a Fae" she informed him. Some of us have gifts. Like me for example. My blood heals. I can heal faster than the average vampire" she said, her cheeks pinking with a blush." That is really cool" Melissa said from across the room. " Anyway, Vampires and werewolves first came in contact when vampires came over to the new world. We were being hunted in the old world by humans and well your kind" she said talking to Chris who in turn blushed. " There was no fighting at first and we even lived in harmony. We would help the werewolves when Hunters came to the new world. One of my people even fell in love with and mated one of yours" Ara said talking to Scott. Deaton nodded his head." Yes I know this story. The woman was already married to a warrior within her tribe, a werewolf, but left him for her vampire mate. The warrior became enraged and killed her. Her mate went into a blood rage and ripped the warrior to pieces in front of his whole tribe and thus the war began" Deaton finished. Once he was done checking Wyatt he stood. He had taken a vial of Wyatt's blood and he put it in his bag." Okay well I have everything I need. I would also like to take a vial of your blood if I may?" he asked and Ara nodded. Melissa came over and lifted Wyatt into her arms before carrying him up to Scott's room. Ara held her arm out and Deaton pulled out a syringe and took a blood sample." Thank you" he said." Please call me Ara" she replied. Deaton smiled, “ It means eternal in your language if I am correct?” he said and she smiled with a nod. Deaton smiled again and then left. Chris sighed as he got up and poured himself a glass of wine." Thank you for sharing your history with me. I know it isn’t easy trusting me because of what I am." he said solemnly and Ara nodded. “ Scott trusts you. If he does then so do I. There are good and bad in every species Mr. Argent. You are one of the good ones.” She said.
