My lips pressed together into a firm line as I finally turned to face him. "Excuse you?"
A faintly mocking smile curved his mouth. "You weren't replying to my messages, so I assumed something had happened to you."
I forced out a mirthless laugh. "That's the most absurd assumption that I have ever heard."
His left brow went up. "So you admit you were ignoring my messages on purpose," he stated.
I rolled my eyes in the most discreet way as possible. "I quit, okay. So color me confused when my ex-employer continued to send me texts and emails."
