His brow went up and he leaned back in his chair, his hand coming up to rub his lips. "I'm surprised you even remembered that," he uttered lowly, his voice full of sarcasm.
A spark of annoyance shoots through me. Now, I think of it, I shouldn't have agreed to such a ridiculous term back then, especially as it's coming to bite me in the ass right now. But I guess that's what I get for being an eager-to-please rookie assistant those days.
