I am latent. That is the first sign that my life was going to different from norm. I thought that it was just going to be the fact that I would be treated like I shouldn’t be alive by the rest of the shifting world, I didn’t know that those days when I was being laughed and mocked for being unable to shift would be one of the easiest periods of my life. I found my mate, only for him to think that his mate is someone else. Someone who tried to kill me multiple times, survived that, only to finally have my animal to finally show up. Now a lot of people wants me dead instead. I found my people and then the more I learn about myself, I discovered just how out of the norm I was. Now, everybody was trying to kill me. Indeed, my life was definitely different from the norm.

The undisputed champion
Raven POV I am not trying to brag but I am kind of like a big deal around these parts. Everybody around keep chanting my name and although I rarely ever fight more than once a week anymore, the difference is very clear when it is the night of my fight. They all want to see me beat the biggest men. No, that is not right, let me say it as it is. They want to see 5’4 me, beat men of over 6 feet without breaking a sweat, no matter how much experience they have and how much they weigh. Yes, I am a freak like that. And what makes me even more of one is the fact that the men were shifters of all kinds and me… well I am a shifter. Just that my animal counterpart refuse to make her presence known, even to me. It gets frustrating most times when I get all the bad characteristics of being a shifter active and none of the good ones active. Although my handler and only family, Silas, would disagree and tell me that one of the good reasons why I am so good at fighting is because of my animals instincts and the extra help which she is using to support me. Granted that I am feeling really irritated this period and I have a fight in less than thirty minutes, I am not seeing it as a reason I should be grateful for at this moment. Not with an annoying overgrown puppy yipping at my heels. To be fair, he is more like a feet taller than me, and trying to talk to me but I was nopt in the mood. Hence one of the reasons why I was seriously irritated and considering breaking his arm or something to give him something else to do while I continue on my merry way. “Honestly though, if you don’t want me to have your number, just give me your word that I can see you tomorrow, fix the time and place and I will be there,” The overgrown puppy spoke. I glared at him as I stopped walking, “what makes you think that I will agree to that?” “I know, you wouldn’t which is why I am still trying to convince you. I am kind of rich so I would spend on you…” “Calling me materialistic, a nice way of getting into my pants.” I rolled my eyes at him. “I am not trying to get into your pants.” He lied and if there was something which makes me absolutely upset, it was lies. Using my speed which is unnatural, even for shifters, I sent a low energy expended punch towards his stomach that was still enough to make him fold in half while his breathe wheeze out of him. “The next time I meet you, I am going to give you a reason to wish that this pain is all I give you then.” “I look forward to it.” The pup returned even as I turned and walked into the building, at least I know that the guards there would prevent him from entering. ********** My opponent is one which I haven’t faced before. So he is all bluster and he makes the same mistake which others make. Assuming that my body is a well description of my strength. “What are you doing here little girl? You want to play with the big bad wolf,” he taunted and I rolled my eyes. Of course he was a wolf shifter. They were the ones who raise their shoulders and act like they are the world best gift to the whole paranormal race because they have been so fantasied by the humans. “I don’t see big and I don’t see bad, all I see is a man running his mouth.” I tilted my head to the side as I spoke. Trash talking was definitely part of the job and I had that part down to a science. “I would bring out the wolf in me but I still want you in one piece while I f**k you later on. How much do you like being the star of the show princess because you are going to act in front of the crowd?” His words make me chuckle. I was irritated enough to want to end everything quick so I can continue my day on my own terms but his words just showed me that he was one of those types. You know, the types that proves that they are the lowliest of the low type of scums. His mistake was that he made me arrive at this decision before we started fighting. Which means that those who came here for a show are definitely going to get one. So I made my stance relaxed as I left my fighting crouch, from behind me, I heard a low and familiar voice say “uh oh”. My friend, family and handler, Silas must have realized that this male has succeeded in doing what the last three fights I had, failed to do. Make me give the audience a show. “Oh my god, your words are making me scared, I mean, whatever am I supposed to do now that I have found myself in the cage with a man who wants to r**e me.” The stupid excuse of a life really felt comfortable enough to laugh as he causal approached me. “I would make you like it,” He informed me, ignoring the shouted warnings from the crowd, warning him away. When he got close to me, he gripped my shoulder with one hand as his other hand went to my sports bra. “Are you not forgetting something first?” I asked, tilting my head to one side. The i***t’s fingers paused, only to continue, his eyes were on my breasts and not my face. Now I can’t blame him for that, they were fantastic breasts if I must say. “No, I don’t think that I am forgetting anything,” he responded as he started to draw my sports bra hand down. “You would have to defeat me first,” I reminded him with a cold voice. His eyes found mine just in time to see me smirk and before he could guess what happened next, I have already broken out of his hold and had his head hitting my knee with force. While the crowd cheered around us, I gave him some space, he had blood pouring out of his now broken nose and while I knew that I was still going to be stained with his blood later on, I didn’t want to be more stained than needed. “I am going to kill you.” He growled in anger. “Try and say that when you are not sounding like you still need time to recover. I can give you a few minutes if you need,” I offered helpfully, like the sweet little angel which I was not. He didn’t take my offer, instead he rushed at me, trying to use brute force. Another mistake, assuming that brute force can take me down and I can’t see that s**t from a mile away. At the last second before he could reach me, I swerve to the side while keeping my leg still on his path. Where he hoped that he would have me flattened, instead turned to him being flattened on the ground. “Come on wolfie. You promised to beat me and yet I haven’t done anything yet and you are already on the ground. You are better than this. Do you need me to get you a towel or something?” I asked as I squatted close to him. He immediately swiped out with his arm, hoping to catch my legs and destabilize me and he would have succeeded if I was still there. But I have already done a back flip away and while he went on his knees, in a burst of speed, I did another that ended with his face close to my crotch and my legs on his back. More like he was about to do something else. “Get off me,” he gritted out. “You asked nicely but my answer is still no,” I responded after acting like I was considering it. When he stood up with me close to his face, I realized, I didn’t like the height separating me and the floor, so grabbing a hold of his hair, I pulled off another acrobatic s**t and ended up facing the opposite direction, allowing the force which I moved my body with and my hold on his head to do the rest. He ended up once more on the floor, this time with a thud. “Now that you are back where I want you, I have to decide. Do I want to sever your spine? No, you need to live with your lesson of not being a r****t. Breaking the fingers which you touched me with should be enough.” I stated and then I proceeded to do that. When I was moving to his second hand, after breaking his wrist too, the bell rang signifying the end of the fight. I frowned as I stood up. Then I glanced at Silas. Of course, he was the one who made them ring the bell. I was getting too gruesome again. Sighing, I moved to the cage to be let out but the cage didn’t open. “What the hell,” I demanded. “Calm down, spitfire. You have another match,” Silas spoke as he came to stand in my front at the other side of the cage. “No I don’t. It is a match per day, remember.” “I do but I have a feeling that you would like this one.” I would not, I hate it when people switch things up on me. When the announcing system cackled and the presenter offered that anybody whpo is interested in fight me and can assume that he would win, should step up. The whole arena went silent as everybody looked at themselves wondering who would be foolish enough to challenge me. Their silence made me c***k a smile. I was now everybody’s nightmare and I loved the feeling. “I will give it a try,” A lone quiet voice from the back said and space was created for the sad excuse of an individual who was about to be placed in coma to come out. When he reached the front of the crowd, my eyes were blazing with anger. Yes, I am going to enjoy this fight and enjoy taking him within an inch of his life. He should know better than trying to annoy me with two different occasions in one day.
