Chapter 12

919 Words
The hybrid pup's first howl shattered the ritual hall like breaking glass. The sound was wrong - too deep, too powerful for something newly born. Red energy crackled around the widow as the creature slid into the world, it's tiny body already covered in dark fur and glowing golden eyes that mirrored both Ryker's curse and my stolen blood. I stood frozen for half a second, scalpel still raised, the awakened curse burning hot in my veins. The power I had unleashed moments ago had weakened every Alpha in the room, but it hadn't stopped the birth. The widow laughed weakly through her pain, sweat soaked hair clinging to her hair. "Too late, Surgeon. He's perfect. Stronger than your cursed bastard ever will be." Darius shoved Ryker back and came towards the altar, eyes wild with triumph. "My heir!" Ryker roared and tackled him again. The two Alphas crashed into a pillar, stone cracking under their weight. Fists and claws in a blur of blood and fury. The rogue Alphas moved like a storm. Kai's shoulder pressed against mine as he fired at sn incoming wolf. "The pup is blood," he growled, repeating the words from the rink. "Our brother's nephew. We won't let them use him as a weapon." The broken pact had turned them feral. Every protective move now carried the weight of possession. Before I could respond, my best friend's father, Elias Voss, an older silver streaked Alpha with cold authority stepped fully into the light. His eyes locked on me with a hunger that had simmered for years. "Rhea," he said, voice smooth and commanding over the noise. "You don't have to choose between these males or watch your son suffer. Come with me. I can protect you and the boy. No curse's. No pacts. Just power you can control." His offer hung in the air like a new chain. Ryker heard it. His head snapped towards Elias, golden eyes flashing with lethal rage. "Touch her and die, old man." The rogue Alphas tensed, their bodies closing in around me instinctively. I ignored all of them and focused on the hybrid. The creature - a boy- let out another powerful cry. His eyes glowed brighter, red energy pulsing from his small body. I could feel the stolen threads of my DNA and Ryker's curse twisting inside him, creating something dangerous and unstable. I moved fast with steady hands. I injected the strongest counter agent I had directly into the hybrid's chest. The pup screamed, body convulsing. The widow wailed in fury. "You are killing him!" she shrieked. "No," I said coldly. "I'm umaking what you stole from me." The hybrid's energy spiked wildly. Red lightning arced across the room, striking several enforcers and sending them flying. Darius broke free from Ryker and charged towards me, claws extended. "You'll submit!" he roared. Ryker intercepted him again, but this time the rogue Alphas joined the frat with full force. Jax slammed into Darius from the side. Kai guarded my back, his body pressed against mine as he fought. Zane and Draco tore through the remaining Silver Moon wolves with savage efficiency. The hall was pure chaos- blood on stone, howls echoing, the scent of leather, sweat, and raw power thick in the air. Elias watched it all with calculating eyes. "Rhea, this is madness. Let me take you and the boy away from this war. I can give you stability and safety. A real pack." His words were tempting in their simplicity, but I saw the hunger beneath them. Another Alpha who wanted to own me. I raised my glowing scalpel, the awakened curse surging through me. "I don't need saving. I need them to blead." With a sharp motion, I slashed the blade across the ritual circle's central rune. The ancient curse responded to my will. Power exploded outward in a controlled wave. The hybrid pup's stolen energy destabilized completely, weakening Darius's bond to the widow and dimming the dark magic she had been channeling. The widow collapsed, gasping. Darius staggered, clutching his chest. "What did you do?!" Ryker used the moment to land a devastating blow, sending Darius crashing to the floor. But the victory was short lived. The hybrid pup still alive, still dangerous opened his eyes fully and let out a third howl. This one was directed at Leo's location. The two boys were connected through my blood. Leo... My blood ran cold. A scout burst into the hall, breathing hard. "The boy! Silver Moon forces breached the safe house. They have Leo!" The words hit like a gunshot. Ryker's roar shook the rafters. The rogue Alphas froze, their protective instincts flaring violently. Darius laughed through bloodied lips from the floor. "Too late. My men have your cursed spawn. The hybrid will hunt him down unless you submit right now, Rhea. Come back to me. Complete the bond. Or watch both boys destroy each other." The hybrid pup's eyes locked on mine, glowing with malicious intelligence far beyond it's minutes of life. Elias stepped closer, offering his hands. "Choose wisely, Rhea." Ryker, the rogue Alphas, and even Darius waited, all of them watching me with different shades of obsession and desperation. The queen stood at the center of the storm, curse power humming in her veins, scalpel dripping red. Leo was in danger. The hybrid was awake. And every Alpha in this room wanted to claim the woman woman who could break them all. My decision would decide who lived and who burned.
