Chapter 20: Arianna
Three days later
I felt a heaviness weighing me down, as loud voices went back and forth. I groaned trying
to lift my hand, but my eyes were too heavy. I felt my name being called, and I mumbled slowly
for some water. My throat was raspy and dry.
“She’s awake!” I heard someone shout.
“Get the nurses!” I knew that was Dad’s voice.
“We’re here, Ari. eWe’ve been here.” That was Reece.
I wanted to open my eyes, but I drifted off again into a deep sleep.
