The Shattered Alpa

Chapter 5

A shrill piercing scream cut through the absolute silence of the house. I bolted straight upright in my bed, I had been scared out of a dead sleep it sounded like it was coming from Libby's room. I tried to jump up in doing so getting my blankets tangled around my legs and falling straight on to my knees on to the hard wood floor, I tried as quickly as I could to untangle myself. I stood up and then ran to the door as I threw it open I saw a large man trying to drag Libby from her room that was across from mine he had his hand over her mouth to try and muffle her screams. "Get your hands off her!!" I screamed as I shoved him into the wall at the same time Libby bit down on his hand causing him to let her go as he yelled in surprise. We had been making such a commotion it caused, Mom and dad came out of their room to see was going on and as soon as dad saw the man, he knew what was going on he immediately shifted baring his teeth he knocked the man over onto to the floor "Get the Alpha Lexi!" was all my dad had to say. I didn't hesitate and ran to the door but I didn't have to go far because, just as I flung open the door and before I could change into my wolf to go get him, Bradon shoved himself passed me as he took to running up the stairs taking three at a time with me right on his heels only I couldn't take them three at a time. As I got to the top of the stairs I saw Alpha heading straight for my dad and the strange man. Libby was getting up off the floor where she had fallen after the intruder had let go of her.

"What the hell is going on here?" Bradon demanded. "He tried to kidnap my Libby" my father's wolf growled out. Before anyone could react Bradon lost it, moving fast as lightening he flung my father down the hall with one swipe of his arm like he was nothing more than a sack of potatoes, he reached down and snatching the man up off the floor by his throat like he weighed nothing more than a grain of rice. He then slammed his back so hard against the wall he put him through it; with Bradon still holding on to him, he just stepped through the hole to continue assaulting him. "How dare you touch what is mine, I'm going to kill you, you son of a b***h!!" he yelled as he drew his other arm back into a fist to strike him down. "Bradon don't!!" came out of Libby. Bradon was breathing heavily as he was trying to calm himself down to keep from killing the intruder. "Why should I spare him?" he turned his head to look directly at her his eyes glowing red in the dim light coming from the night lights in the room. My father came walking up to him staggering as he stopped he leaned against the wall near the new door that the Alpha had put there with the man's body, that was slumped dangling from his hand, "Because ,we need him to find out who sent him and why Alpha." was all he could get out before he collapsed on the floor he had passed out.

Some time later at the pack hospital all of us were gathered around dad as he laid in a bed. "What the hell happened?" asked the doctor. "Well, doc it's a little confusing to me at the moment" dad told him looking up at him from the bed sheepishly. "I heard Libby scream, and I ran out of my room to see some man trying to drag Libby down the hall doc, I jumped him and that's when mom and dad came out of their room dad shifted and pinned him telling me to get the Alpha and when I got to the door he was on the other side and from there it all went to s**t" I told him talking as fast as I could trying to make the story short and to the point. "Alexis Nyx watch your mouth young lady" my mother scolded. "That tells me some of how the man in the next room sustained some of his injuries but not how James got a concussion So finish the story missy."

"Well..." I didn't get to finish before Bradon entered the room. "I found out that piece of s**t tried to kidnap my mate." he told the doc as he pointed his thumb towards the wall then ran his hand across the back of his neck in embarrassment. "I threw James off the guy; I don't really remember the rest my wolf kinda took over from there." "I see " Doc said looking around the room at all of us. That's when Libby spoke up saying "I am not your mate, you are sorely mistaken you.. you asshole you hurt my dad!" her face was as red as Santa Claus' suit at Christmas; she had hands drawn into fists on her side by her hips, and something that was completely out of character for her, she walked over to Bradon and slugged him with a right hook causing him to take a step back.

She then spun on her heel as she went to the door she stopped just before she got there then turned around and looked at all of us with a humph she stomped out the door. All of our mouths had dropped open in so much shock we all could have caught flies, all we could do is stare at her as she walked out of the room, then down the hall. "She is really going to be pissed when... " was all that he was able to get out before we her voice coming down the hall. Bradon Alexander get your ass in here and tell this putz to let me leave or so help me to God I will cut your p***s off!!" Libby screamed so loud I swore the whole hospital heard her threaten the Alpha. Bradon started laughing as he shook his head, going for the door to save his "putz" from the wrath of Libby.

The sun had started to come up before we started to go home, but we were stopped at the door to the hospital "I'm sorry ladies but I have orders from the Alpha I am either to take you to the pack house or you can stay here at the hospital but you can't go back to your house until we find out what is going on, so please don't blame me." he stammered out holding his hands up as if we had a gun to him, he was as nervous as a rattle snake caught in the hen house stealing eggs. I think he was afraid we were going to yell at him like Libby, but we were too tired especially me, it took me forever to calm Libby down enough and convince her that it would be a good idea to go with one of the warriors to get some sleep, it wasn't until he said that we couldn't go back to the house that I realized she was at the pack house and I needed to rescue Alpha. I was never going to get any sleep. I thought as I shook my head. "Go with him to the pack house "Lexi I will stay with dad, go to the pack house to try and get some sleep," mom told me as she kissed my cheek and headed back to my dad. I followed him out the door.
