"What's wrong, beautiful?" One of the five men noticed the presence of Charis, who was merely standing by and watching them compete to consume the most vodka. When the five men looked at her questioningly, Charis had difficulty swallowing her saliva, and her heart was beating faster. She tightly gripped the hand that was next to her body. Her blue eyes scanned the five guys for differences that would help her identify her mate. The five human guys could only be distinguished by musk mixed with the smell of booze and cigarettes. There's no way she smells all five of them one by one, right? She would undoubtedly be perceived as a strange woman. "How is it, Aria?" She communicates with her wolf. Aria stated in a stern voice, "Go home." Charis was very shocked. "Home? You're not mistaken?" "No." Aria gave the nod. "I want us to go home." "Why?" "There is no other option. We'd better go home and think about it later." perplexed Aria. Why are her mate and Charis humans when there are so many werewolves? "Would you like to join us?" asked the human man who was the first to notice Charis's presence "Thanks, but no." Charis shook her head. She swiftly exited the opulent club and headed for her red car parked there. She had forgotten about Griselda. Aria was right; Better head home. If one of those men were her mate, they would see each other again. Just wait and see. "Why that woman?" The brown-haired man was perplexed. His four friends all told him to ignore the woman. Griselda gaped greatly. Why did Charis go on without her? It's dangerous if Charis leaves her here, because the location of this club is far from the area where the portal door to the pack is located. Before chasing Charis, she observed the five human men and stored them in memory. "Charis!" Griselda tapped on the windshield of the car. She was thankful that Charis didn't leave her. Charis sat next to the driver's seat and slightly lowered the car window. "Get in. Now you're driving." Griselda gave the nod. "Okay. Let me handle it." She sat in the driver's seat and looked at Charis. "What took place? How come you fled?" "I am sorry; I forgot. I came over to be with you. If you are still unsatisfied, I will wait for you in the car." The lovely face of Charis bore a look of regret. Griselda sighed. "It's alright. Looks like I should go home soon before I get drunk and kiss men carelessly because I think they're Oryn." She laughed. Charis nodded. "True. I don't want you to harm Oryn's heart, which is as soft as silk." Griselda laughed so much that her stomach hurt. "We have to return home to avoid something like that happening." She was going about average speed in Charis's red car. Enjoy the beauty of the city inhabited by humans at night. When Charis assign Oryn to go abroad on business or attend some meetings with clans of immortals, Griselda will accompany Charis. She and Oryn thought, that Charis should not be left alone because many wanted Charis to perish. Charis stared out the window. Seeing the cars and towering skyscrapers. Her mind wandered, her brain showing the faces and appearances of the five human men having a drinking party like crumpled tapes. Her nose could still remember the smell of the musk, and her heart was still beating fast. Charis wanted to talk to Aria, but her wolf refused. It seemed that Aria didn't like their mate. Griselda refrained from asking. If her guess was right, that meant right now; maybe Charis and her wolf were arguing. They must be surprised because their mate is human. That's good news; Charis has found her mate, but also bad news because pack members definitely have their pros and cons. It's not at all good to keep Charis' position as the pack's leader. *** Charis took a seat on the bed's edge. She daydreams. Her brain suddenly couldn't think. The faces of the five human men kept going through her mind. Her mate is a human, right? Honestly, she didn't know what to do. She should be happy, right? Isn't this what she wants—to find her soul mate as quickly as possible? Why was she now afraid and unsure? She just hoped her mate wasn't the Alpha of another werewolf pack or the leader of a clan of immortals. She didn't want the position of Alpha to slip into the hands of other werewolves, especially her younger cousin, because she was determined to keep her leadership in this pack. If the mate is human, will he want to live there? Is he going to accept it? If she tells her mate who she is, will the secret of the werewolf clan, which they have worked so hard to keep secret, be blown? Charis messed up. She should be happy, right? Charis closed the window; tonight's wind was so strong that it blew away the curtains. "Aria?" Charis is back in mind link with her wolf. She hoped her wolf would respond. She couldn't think of anything at all. "I don't know how to react to our destiny." Aria finally gave her reply. She was also perplexed. Wonder why their mate is human. The Moon Goddess was too cruel to Charis. "What do you think?" Charis leaned back and sat on the side of the bed. Her blue eyes looked at the cold white floor. Aria inhaled deeply. "I think the elders, top bras, and pack members won't accept him. " "Why? Because he is a human?" "Yes. Yes, you also think so." "But we can't change fate, Aria." Charis massaged her dizzy head. "You can. Can't you reject him?" Aria frowned. Did Charles forget? "Many werewolves do it. Reject their mate." "After that, they regret it." Charis reminded Aria of the story of the werewolves who regret rejecting their mate. "Besides, they will have to wait a long time until they meet their new mate." Aria sighed. Charis is true. "The Moon Goddess must have a reason our mates are humans." Charis was sure that the Moon Goddess would never be wrong. "Possible?" Aria was hesitant. She couldn't figure out why the Moon Goddess gave them a human mate. "Because he drinks, I don't like him. Maybe he's a bad guy." Charis smacked her forehead. "Aria, don't judge a book by its cover." She was irritated. "Griselda, what about her? She often drinks and dances at the club. Is she a bad woman?" Aria was quiet, agreeing with what Charis said. "But none of the five human men look friendly, and their clothes make them look like gangsters." Charis lay down on the bed, staring at the ceiling with a confused and anxious look. "Of the five human men, who is our mate?" She held his heart, which was still beating very fast. "I'm curious."
