Draven is just a human. He lives his life like any other person. Eat, sleep, exercise, work, and seek entertainment when he has free time. He has a boring life, but he tries to live it to the fullest.
All of Charis's words that sounded ridiculous turned out to be true. The woman wasn't lying. The woman was a werewolf. Charis had shown him her wolf form, and he knew Aria, the wolf that lived inside Charis.
Then now, she showed him, her spacious and comfortable-looking study. Draven's eyes traveled every part of the room, which would soon be his. Because he is Charis' mate, and Charis will hand over her power to him after they get married. Draven smiled widely. In the human world, he was just an ordinary worker, but at Garnet Pack, he would become a leader. He never thought he would be a leader who runs a country.
Charis watched as Draven surrounded her study. She is always ready to hand over leadership to her mate if she has found him. She looked at the picture of her father on her desk. Whenever she was tired and wanted to give up, she always looked at the picture of her father, which always made her feel better.
"Is he your father?" Draven followed Charis' gaze.
"Yes." Charis nodded.
Draven judged her father, Charis, who had the beard. Charis's father looked dashing and charismatic. He seems like a wise and just leader. How about him? "How many members are there?"
"Around 2.000." Charis took a quick look at Draven, who seemed to be becoming more interested and was no longer frustrated. "There are only seven werewolf packs left in the world of immortals. After the Emerald Pack, the Garnet Pack is one of the packs with the second most members."
Draven's head started to feel dizzy. He should have learned about the werewolf world. "What are some mythical creatures that exist in the immortal world?"
Charis tilted her head to the side. "Lots." She turns around to Draven. "Not only do the werewolves in the Garnet Pack and the other packs look down on my leadership, but so do the clans from the other immortal worlds."
Draven turned his face to the window, looking at the blue sky. He scratched his head. It turned out that Charis had a much tougher life than he did. Even though he often complains because his position does not go up and his salary is too small. "Is there a book explaining werewolves or the world of the immortals?" Draven was curious. As a possible leader, he needs to know everything so no one will underestimate him. Moreover, he is a human.
Charis smiled. It was not difficult to convince Draven of there being a mate and of the threat to her leadership position. "Yes. But if there's something you're confused about, don't ask me." Charis walked to the bookshelf, which contained all kinds of books. She could find the books Draven was looking for easily.
Draven read the titles of the two books with eyebrows drawn together. Turns out they speak English. He glanced at Charis, who did not remove the smile on his beautiful face. He's so stupid. Charis speaks English, meaning the werewolves in this pack speak English! "Then who should I ask?"
"Oryn. He's a Beta. If you become an Alpha, he will become your Beta," said Charis.
"Beta?" Draven looked at Charis questioningly.
"You can find the answer from that book." Charis pointed at the book Draven was holding.
Draven looked at Charis flatly. "Are you lazy to explain it to me?"
Charis laughs quietly. "No. You'd better read it yourself, so you understand. If you don't understand, you can ask Beta Oryn. Ah, but he's not in the pack. I assigned him to visit the Elf kingdom. But don't worry, he'll be back tomorrow. "
Draven let out a long breath. Then open a book that explains about werewolves. Why do the two books have so many pages?
"Oh, I forgot. Oryn is Griselda's mate." Charis heads over to her desk to tidy up the scattered files.
"They are married?"
"Of course."
Draven tilted his head to the side. "Oryn … a man?"
"Yes." Charis nodded. "Is that a girl's name?"
"No. Because you are a woman, the secretary or your subordinates are women too."
Charis smiled as she shook her head.
"Is he sad, because Oryn is a man?" Aria's voice echoed in Charis' head.
"Why is Draven sad?" Charis was confused.
"Because he's a playboy." Charis exhaled slowly. Her wolf always had bad thoughts about Draven.
A knock on the door caught Charis and Draven's attention. "Come in," Charis shouted.
"Good afternoon, Alpha and Luna." Nolan bowed his head respectfully.
"Who is Alpha and who is Luna?" Draven looked at Charis and Nolan demanding an answer.
Charis approached Draven while inviting her mate to sit on the couch."You are called Alpha, Alpha Draven, because you are my mate and will soon be the leader of the Garnet Pack. I am your mate, called Luna, Luna Charis."
Draven nodded with a frustrated expression on his face. "Okay, assume I understand."
"Read the book, so you understand." Charis smiled. She was too lazy to explain it to Draven. It would be better for him to read about it himself.
His eyes crinkled at the corners. Draven was annoyed with Charis; had he not asked for this book, she might have told him. He didn't really like reading. "Okay, okay."
Charis smiled. Then she saw Nolan who was still standing. "Uh, sorry, I forgot. Nolan, have a seat."
The young-looking man sat in front of them. "Let me introduce myself to Alpha, Luna." Charis allows. Nolan met Draven's eyes. "My name is Nolan. I'm a historian." Draven nodded his head. Then Nolan looked at Charis with a smile. "I'm so glad you found your mate."
"Thank you, Nolan." Charis leaned over to Nolan. "You already know, don't you? About Draven a human?"
"I know, Luna." Nolan nodded. "I know why you wanted to talk to me. You must have meant to ask about your relationship, right?" Charis gave an excited nod. "Like in other cases where a werewolf has a human mate, the human must turn into a werewolf. In addition, you want to make Draven be alpha." Nolan and Charis looked at Draven, who looked shocked.

After taking a shower, Draven muses again while standing by the window. Since he wasn't married to Charis yet, he was in a different bedroom with her. Even though Charis had already said it, he might need to turn into a werewolf. But when he heard what Nolan said, he was shocked and scared.
From birth, he was purely human, but now he had to turn into a werewolf. Did he violate God's destiny? Wait a minute, which God is he referring to?
"Draven." The soft voice broke Draven's muses. He smoothed out the shirt he was wearing. He put on an Oryn shirt that just happened to fit him. He was curious to meet Oryn soon. He opened the door and was surprised. It was not only Charis but also Madison and Griselda. Where's the witch?
"Are you ready?" Charis wore a blue high-waisted dress. Draven couldn't hide his fascination.
"Already." Draven nodded. "What should I say?"
"You don't have to say anything." Charis smiled, covering her nervousness.
The higher-ups and several representatives of the pack members were here, in the hall usually used to celebrate important events. As Charis and Draven walked onto the stage, people started to whisper about them. Everyone is looking at them.
Charis stood on the podium. She was used to being here. She shouldn't feel nervous and restless. "Good afternoon to all of you. I appreciate you taking your time." She wore a big smile. "As the news has spread. I've met my mate." She turned to Draven. "His name is Draven Hoover."
The representative of the pack members gave a round of applause, feeling Charis's happiness. While some of the higher-ups were busy whispering, they didn't like it. Emric, Charis' younger cousin, suddenly came on stage. Charis watched what Emric was about to do.
Emric gave Charis a crooked smile. "Charis has met her mate, but unfortunately, her mate is a human."
Everyone present was shocked and looked at Draven disapprovingly. They shouted that if they did not want to be led by humans, even though Draven would later turn into a werewolf.
Draven didn't like a man with the same eyes and hair as Charis. He didn't care about the shouts of the higher-ups and pack members who didn't want him. "Who's he?"
Charis looked at Draven with sad eyes. "Emric, my cousin."
Draven nodded in understanding. Charis had told him that Emric was trying to become the Alpha of this pack. Draven asked Charis to get off the podium and he stood there. Before speaking, his eyes traveled to the werewolves in the hall. "Although I am a human, I am Charis' mate. Before I marry her, I'll turn into a werewolf. After that, I'll replace Charis as Alpha, the leader of the Garnet Pack. Even though I'm a human, I'll try to learn about the worlds of werewolves and immortals. I'll show you all that I deserve to be Alpha of the Garnet Pack!" Draven spoke forcefully and fervently as if he was campaigning. Making everyone in the hall gasp.
Charis was shocked. She thought Draven needed time to think.
Emric snorted, annoyed. Then his eyes met Draven who smiled at him. Emric gritted his teeth, growling.
